He had said that Delahoya shouldnt let his wife screw him the morning of the fight so he doesnt come up with excuses like my back hurts etc. I think that is what he said. The deal is mayorga feels disrespected because of the way Oscar had been talking about this fight as though mayorga is a nothing. Personally I think it is all to piss oscar off and make him come out like vernon forrest and fight mayorga fights, resulting in a early round knockout. But Oscar IMHO is too smart for that. Should be a good treat.

mayorga is a joke. Talking all this crap about pulling out of the fight. He should shut his mouth until after the fight cause he took the pre fight drama way too far.
If mayorga wins its because de la hoya hasnt been in the ring in forever. I believe thats the only reason why he took this fight.

no, i disagree. i thought sugar shane clearly won the first fight (and im a huge de la hoya fan). but the second fight was a rip off, freakin scam, piece o crap.
de la hoya is just too old now. he's one of the greatest of all time, imo (not THE, one off), but mayorga is just too strong for him.
i expect it to be a good fight, with de la hoya going down late. then he will rise off the canvas and sign mayorga to a lucrative promotion contract.

I highly doubt that de la hoya will sign mayorga after all the crap that came out of his mouth. I think mayorga is better suited for TNA wrestling than boxing. After reading some more about this fight I think the fight will go the distance with hoya getting the decision. Hoya has fought against people that had mayorga's style and has done fine. The only way I see mayorga winning is by getting a lucky shot.

All this talk about floyd being the best pound for pound is crap. If he wants proof of what it takes to have that title then he should look at hoya when oscar was in his prime.

everyone thinks the world of mayweather, but myself and a couple of others see right through him. Floyd is the product of what happened when managers pick the right fights for him. The only reason floyd fought gatti was because he knew his speed would overwhelm gatti. It was a classic mismatch of boxing styles. The judah fight was the best competition in the ring (notice I said competition not fighter) which isnt saying much.
Floyd is making a habit of ducking fighters that could actually beat him. After the gatti fight, he said publicly that he would like to fight winky wright. Wrights managers threw a contract on the table and floyd backed down which only means floyd was trying to get publicity. Just recently floyd backed down from a fight with antonio margarito, which would be the best match up in boxing style in floyd's career. If floyd would have fought winky he would have been outmatched as well

i dont agree completely with what you are saying about mayweather. before the gatti fight, i also thought jr was way overrated. i thought he was just a paddy-caker that used his speed to stay out of harms way and to score enough to win rounds. but, while what you say about styles between gatti and mayweather is bang on, the fact is that gatti is a warrior and mayweather destroyed him. mayweather made a believer out of me that fight, and backed it up agains zab (although judah did better than i thought he would going in).
but as for winky and margarito, i hope mayweather does fight one or both. the problem is (for mayweathers camp) is that neither is a big enough name outside hard core boxing fans, so the pay-per-view draw wont be high enough. i think mayweather feels the risk (both could beat him) to reward (not huge dollars, most likely) makes those guys unattractive options at the moment.
but a floyd/oscar fight would be entertaining. i would bet on floyd but it would be a good fight. in oscars first fight against sugar shane, he showed he has problems adjusting when his opponent is faster than he is. i definately think at this point in their careers mayweather is the faster man.

i dont know about that. oscar definately looked better than he has in years in that fight, but i dont see him knocking floyd out by the 4th.
before watching that fight i would have given oscar no chance. but oscar seems to have returned to his optimal fighting weight. his combination of size and speed will definately give mayweather his best test yet.
but i still think mayweather will still be faster than oscar. the only time i can remember oscar not being the faster man in the ring was the first fight against sugar shane, and oscar didnt handle it very well.
i cant wait though. woot-woot, that will be a kick-ass fight!

Don't be fooled by Oscars' performance.
He beat a one dimensional fighter, at best, who insulted his wife.
The only real chance DLH would have against PBF is if Floyd made Oscar really angry.
Floyd is younger, faster and technically superior.

Well I'm one of the few who think Oscar beat cheato trinadad in thier fight. Oscar punished him and out boxed him. If boxing means you are scared and running then Ali won about 4 fights because that is what he did. He hit your a** and then moved away.
So I guess he was a scared.
If you remember the fight between Zab and Tszyu. Jab was faster but could not hurt Tszyu. In the second Tszyu walked through Zabs punches and Ko'd his butt. Same will happen in a Mayweather vs. Oscar fight.

tszyu got lucky. zab was too cocky and underestimated kosta. kosta had the punchers chance and cashed it in.
but i do agree with your take on oscar/tito fight. oscar had the fight in the bag, and then decided to coast in. but oscar learned his lesson in that fight and had closed fights much more aggressively since.

i think it more drew attention in the inner circles of boxing and with the more hard core fans. i dont think too many casual fans would pay money to see floyd vs winky, at least not before floyd beat gatti and zab. he's now become a pay-per-view draw in his own right, but i think thats mostly the result of his last couple of fights.
and winky is definately not a big draw to the casual fan. personally i love to watch him box, but hes not exactly flashy. but winky/jermain should be a good fight. i think winky will win. taylor squeaked out wins against the executioner, but winky fights all 12 rounds, not just the last 6 like hopkins. i dont think taylor is a well-rounded enough fighter to deal with winky's defense (although i do like taylor).
if mayweather and winky fought, i think mayweather would win. the thing here is that winky is not a knock out fighter, and i dont think he can out-score mayweathers speed. i actually think this might be a 'boring' fight, but very technical and strategic. i think mayweather would use his superior hand speed to patty cake points and win rounds. if winky wants to stay in his shell, i dont see him being able to land enough to win a decision. if winky opens up and tries to be more aggresive, hes not fighting his style and mayweather would capitalize, imo.
i do think mayweather beats winky, but id be cheering loudly for the wright man to win ;) .
