What are your favorite hockey moments of al time?
Mine are in no particular order
- When the Bruins finally beat Montreal in 1988 after something like 20 series and 40 years or so. Reg Lemelin stood on his head with Ray Bourque, Cam Neely and Craig Janney dominating
- When the Hartford Whalers forced a game 7 vs Montreal in 1986. At the time the Whalers were an upstart team and the Canadiens were a force, but with Mike Liut, Ron Francis, Kevin Dineen and Ray Ferraro this team was very pesky.
- When Ray Bourque won his elusive Stanley Cup in 01 with Colorado. I have always respect Bourque and he has been one of my favorites.
- When Mario Lemieux and Ron Francis (dumb trade Whalers :duh: ) beat the North Stars to win their first cup in 1991. Along with J Jager, K Stevin and T Barasso this team was awesome and very fun to watch.
- When the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Maple Leafs in the Conference Finals in 2002 to reach their first Stanley Cup final in their team history (hopefully they can get their again this year) Martin Gelinas scored on a great tip in from Josef Vasicek in overtime
What do you pick?

Nice hockey moments med.
My favorite hockey moments was every time Terry O'Reilly and Dave Shultz went toe to toe. Those were classic NHL fights for the ages.
Dave Shultz and the Broadway Bullies were public enemy # 1 when I was a kid.
Well, me being a leaf fan the 93' playoffs were something special, although we were ripped off at the end by Wayne Gretzky and Kerry Fraser, it was still my favourite leaf team of all time. Doug Gilmour, Dave Andreychuk, Wendel Clark, classic players, it would have been a terrific final against the Canadiens but we all know everyone was in love with Gretzky back then!

Being a Kings fan there aren't a lot, but they are:
1 - The Miracle on Mancester - the Kings trailed Gretsky's Oilers 5-0 going into the third period of a playoff game, came back to win 6-5 in OT and then went on to stun them in the series. Believe it or not, the game wasn't even on TV so I remember being in my bedroom (I was only about 13 or so) and listening to the broadcast on a transistor radio.
2 - A few years ago they trailed Detroit 3-0 with 6 minutes left, also in the playoffs. They scored three goals then another in OT and again went on to win the series. I was actually at that game. Side note: The next year Robitaille went to the Wings and won the Cup with them.
3 - When the Kings beat Toronto and finally made it to the Stanley Cup finals. I was in Laughlin when they won Game 7 - awesome.

That was one of the biggest rip offs in sports history, as I stated in my previous post. Wayne high-sticked Gilmour in game 6 and drew blood, he should have recieved a 4 minute major but instead went on to score the winning goal moments later, absolute robbery!! :duh:

I actually agree 100%, but remember who we're talking about here. If Wayne Gretzsky sat in the penalty box more than 10 times his entire career I'd be shocked. It's kinda like how Jordan never fouled out or Maddox gets pitches called strikes that are a foot outside. Leagues and officials protect and give special favor to their stars. :coffee:

I have an NHL video that is called NHL overtime that sums up all great OT videos. This game was on it and it seemed thrilling.
On the Det game, I remember and I believe Adam Deadmarsh scored the GW goal. It was awesome as I do not like Det very much, but respect Stevie Y and N Lindstrom.

Mark Messier guarenteeing victory in game 6 of the '94 eastern conference finals and subsequently scoring a 3rd period hat trick.
Game 7 of the same series...two words...Stephane Matteau.
Watching Mess lift the Cup with the NY Rangers!

My favorite Ranger moments are when in 1986 they beat the heavily favored Flyers and Pierre Larouche was awesome.
and in 1997 with Gretzkey they beat the Devils who I became sick of after 1995.

I was at the Game (Staple Center) this season against the Avalanche when we had a tribute to Deadmarsh; they highlighted that game. They gave him a really tight Painting of him making that goal with a redwing on the floor behind him. He had said that it was the loudest he had ever heard Staples (Kings Fans).

That's interesting! It kind of follows what have told people for years - there is nothing louder and more exciting that playoff hockey! Although, to be honest, I went to the playoff game against New England this year at Invesco and that topped it!
