Barry Bonds is a great athlete and his accomplishments should be respected by all. It is such a shame that he became the scapegoat for the entire steroid era in baseball.

Thats just it, he ISN'T the Scapegoat. McGwire came off very bad before congress with his "I'm not hear to talk about the past". Sosa all of a sudden could not speak english, made him look so bad. Lets not forget Palmerro's finger pointing swear that he never did steroids, only to get clipped for it later that seaon.
If any of them where still playing, and where close to THE most hallowed number in all of sports they too would be getting heat for it. Lets also not forget that Bonds is a JERK!!!!!!!! He flatly refused to sign the 714 ball.
Also he was one of the ALL TIME GREATS, before he juiced up. He did it out of jealousy. He did not like the fact that Big Mac and Sammy where getting all the ink.
Sorry UA I don't respect cheaters. It is impressive to have that many Jacks, yes it is, but how ever many he hit on his own would be alot more Impressive to me.

I didn't say he should be respected. I said his ACCOMPLISHMENTS should be respected. Barry Bonds did not violate MLB policy. Even if he did use steroids do you think for a second this wasn't going on before Bonds? Do you think for a second that no one currently in the Pro Baseball HOF used steroids?

Oh so if eveyone cheated it is ok for Bonds to do it?
You are correct he "did not violate MLB policy", but he did BREAK THE LAW. It is ILEAGAL to take Steroids in the US of A. T26Byou are right Arrogant Racist Cheating Liers, deserve NO respect, I'll go one more they are a Piece of CRAP

Well apparently it is okay for them to use steroids under MLB policy but it isn't okay for Bonds to use them under MLB policy. Look, like it or not Bonds did hit 715 home runs and the guy is one of the greatest baseball players of all time, steroids or not. To simply call him a cheater and forget all of his accomplishments over his career is wrong. Bonds has been an ******* throughout his career but even he doesn't deserve his records to be disregarded.

UA I have NEVER said it was ok for anyone to take Steroids, no one has, Bonds is taking the heat because he is the biggest names to get caught, also he is still playing Big Mac, Sammy and Palmerro are not. If Bonds records get pulled I would have NO problem if McGwires 70 gets pulled too. It St Louis after he hit 70 they renamed part of I 70 after him, there is talk of ripping those sign down do to Mark taking the neadle

If you want to be technical, TECHNICALLY BARRY BONDS DID NOT BREAK BABE RUTH'S RECORD!
Back in the day, they did not count Walk-Off Homeruns.
Babe Hit about 40 of them.
That would mean Babe has 754! :O

Bonds probably won't retire at the end of this season. He'll eventually break Aaron's record.
