"Mike Bell can have the best training camp in the history of free-agent running backs and still may not shake up the tailback committee headed by Ron Dayne and Tatum Bell for the season opener (Sept. 11 at St. Louis). But as an undrafted rookie from the University of Arizona, the 6-foot, 220-pound Mike Bell can go a long way toward making the final 53-man roster and emerging as the No. 3 running back if he has more days like the past two. If he were a basketball player, he'd be the type who slashes to the basket, working himself open through all those big guys in the lane. Bell is quick and goes hard. "A lot of players see him making plays that they haven't seen for a while," said Broncos coach Mike Shanahan."-Denver Post

I'm not sure, but I kinda took that as sarcasm, you know, like the way they wasted MA's talent at FB for those years.

why do u think he's just like Tatum. I think there totatlly different. MBell is very shifty, and has a little better burst than TBell.

Surprised, no one asked Shanahan to expand on comment. Who do you think he was referring to.. obviously someone not on roster. Not Mike A. , not Portis. I say he is refferring to TD.

who are the guys saying it. There's not many players still here from the TD era, besides woh? R.Smith and mabye Al wilson. Ithink its either CP, or QG. MBell reminds me of a bigger QG. Very shifty and quick moves.

i really should have figured it out. I guess ur right, b/c everybody thinks TBEll is CP, b/c he wears #26 and drafted in 2nd rd.
Yeah, it's a bit silly really...I really don't rate Tatum at all. I hope Dayne takes the starting role personally with Mike Bell removing Tatum from his spell job. Tatum's just shown too much impatience and flashes of Lelie syndrome at times.

Totally forgot QG, everybody said he reminded them of B.Sanders so that he would be good as long as he doesn't get fumbleitis. Still think he means TD. Maybe when he says "guys" he is not talking about players but the fans attending the practices.

B/c bulking up and hitting the weights is not the problem. U dont have to be a bruising powerback to succeed in this offense. 10-12 carries is not Primary back material. But it's only been about 3days. we'll really see when gametime comes.

he did say veteran guys, and there's not alot of vetern guys here who played on this team when TD was here. But who knows who shanny could of been talking about. Tme will tell.

i dont know why u guys are even thinking that it could be QG or CP or MA.... Sure they all had talent but these guys were recent, and Shanny said something they haven't seen in a while...IMO, i think he's talking about TD...

So let me get this straight: Mike Bell is seemingly doing better than ANY of our veteran RBs, but he has ZERO chance to start? There goes Shanny's line of "the best players will play".

He says he can have the best out of any undrafted free agent and not take the job from them. I don't see where it says that he is doing better than them though. That would just be saying that Bell and Dayne are doing better than any undrafted free agent to ever come out. Everyone on the team has a chance to start. They just have to carry their good camps into preseason and tear it up there.
