Ummm... Wouldn't the fact that he's getting man-handled out there and getting back up PROVE that he can take the load and take a pounding?

And if Tatum isn't the man, then who do you suggest we put back there? Dayne has sucked, Mike Bell won't be ready(most likely), and Cedric Cobbs is getting the boot.

Why wouldnt mike bell be ready? Its RB not QB. And Hell no it dosent show he can carry the load they arent even going full contact and he looks soft.

He has 2 learn the play book and he is behind to nfl expirenced backs and he can learn from him rather then throw him out there and get him hurt or somthing like that.

Because even Portis wasn't ready for the first game in his rookie year. The speed of the game is TOTALLY different.

If Tatum gets hit like hell, and he gets back up -- it shows me something.

hes just trying to find a reason not to like him, hes on the Jones bandwagon

Let us all remember that the blocking scheme is not in full effect. Why do you think Shanny puts so much into blocking TE and WR, so they can block out the defense. Tatum Bell will be fine and YES Mike Bell is ready.......BY GAME ONE.

I was nervous about our running back situation before TC started. But with M. Bell coming on, I hope they don't trade for another running back.

Ding and Dong will be just fine. I especially like what I'm reading about M. Bell being effective as a short yardage and goaline back. Even with M. Andersen last year, I never felt confident with our backs grinding out the tough yards.

and then hell run for a 56 yd td run and we are all amazed! !

56 yd touchdowns will amaze in any camp.

I loved Mike the Marine but I agree I was unconfortable knowing we had to get 3-4 yards on 3rd down. It used to be automatic with T.D. and even C.P. You watch the Bell brothers will knock 'em for a loop THIS YEAR.

Quentin Griffin got knocked out every play and he still worked out pretty well. Has Bell fumbled a lot or been injured?¿

Griffin was frequently injured. Bell has rarely missed a game due to injury. Not sure what you're trying to prove here.

I must be missing something here. How is rb taking a hit and getting up again a bad thing. T. Bell has been questioned before about his toughness, but he seems to be dispelling that notion.

Its nice to see other people on the mike bell bandwagon. :D I say, Give Mike Bell a chance to shine if he continues to outwork everybody else. Rookie of the Year= Mike Bell. :D

Yea, I got a wild hair last Friday night. My wife was reading a book, didn't want to watch Stargate Atlantis, so I decided to make a website. I have spent most of the last week working on it. Still need to improve the looks, but I have been working on the content first.

maybe he would be more appreciative if we had gerard warren at RB and run six yards out of bounds without getting tackled? dude, if there's an RB out there who can magically elude tackles with some sorta sixth sense, lets sign him, but like everyones saying, tacklings just a part of the game. and once again like everyone said, he's getting back up, hes not getting any head trauma, so i see no problem. and if you want to make a RB look weak, compare him to clarrett. griffin was a fast guy who could take the pounding, we just didnt have a spot for him.

Um... Everyone else has been seeing that too >_>. The reports from Orange Mane have been that Mike Bell has been the best RB all along. That's not exactly him seeing something we don't. Also, this topic deals with Tatum Bell, not Mike Bell, so that's completely irrelevent too.

Alls Tater had to do was show he was tough and he would start bu he couldnt b/c hes not.

Um... that's flawed on so many levels. The real thing that separates Mike and Tatum Bell is that Mike Bell hits the hole well all the time from what I've heard, and Tatum has some trouble running into the backs of his blockers. You can't say Mike is starting because Tatum is soft... Mike Bell fits our system well and does an excellent job of hitting the holes.

Tatum is soft watch the pre-season game and how he acts with his back against the wall youll see.

Remember guys. Larry Coyer said not to read too much into where people were placed in training camp.

Meaning, Mike Bell starting isn't set in stone. To really impress, he can not only get the job, but keep it. If he can keep it as well... then I'm more than satisfied with the coaches choice in Bell.

Larry Coyer is the DC. He has absolutely nothing to do with Mike Bell or any of the offense.

However, it is true that nothing is set in stone. The only thing set in stone is that M. Bell will start the Detroit game (barring injury) because Shanahan said so in his press conference. He will also probably play longer than the other starters because of his inexperience.

I'd say we'll see alot of T. Bell and Dayne in the 2nd half though.
