Actually it does matter. If Walker was involved in the incident then he could be emotionally scarred for the rest of his life. For not only being shot and injuried in the accident, but as well as mental damage. Just because he's not in a body bag doesn't mean he's fine.

I heard it on KOA news a little while ago that Walker was also in the Hummer. But they would not say anything more. They also said there may have been as many as 16 people in the Hummer. So it's hard to believe someone could purposely target Williams through smoke colored windows with that many people in the car.

Go easy man... We're all pissed off right now, no need to start snapping at people.

I completely agree with 2500, who knows what it would be like to sit in the limo that your friend and teammate is shot and killed in. Plus there were reportedly 2 others shot, 1 man and 1 woman, so for all we know Walker is among those who have been shot. Now, I would assume that it would have been out to the media if Walker was injured... But have a little empathy and picture yourself in a limo where 3 people get shot... Think you would fear for your life?

Sub-automatic guns are meant for one reason and that is for killing people. Any idiot that has a sub automatic is most likely up to no good. Lets take the guns away. These idiots shouldn't be allowed with guns. These idiots are the scum of our society. Hopefully these drive-by cowards will be put to justice.

That's obsurd, if I ever heard it. What part of a "drive by shooting" do you consider legal? You actually think that someone that'll do something like that will stop and think before and say. "Oh wait! Guns are now illegal, so we can't do that." The only people effected by more gun laws are the people that follow the law, criminals do not fit it that category. Laws can't keep guns out of the hands of killers anymore than they can keep crack out of the hands of addicts.

And who says they have to make these guns?

A gun has never killed anyone, it cant, its an inanimate object.

Maybe we should stop making people, we seem to be the cause of problem.

RIP D Wil, god speed to you.

True, sad, but true.

This was posted on www.profootballtalk.com a few hours ago, I don't know if its true

A league source tells us that the current talk in team circles is that Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams expired in the lap of receiver Javon Walker after being shot early Monday morning in a limousine.

Williams, we're told, expired instantly. Also in the limousine were linebacker D.J. Williams and receiver Brandon Marshall. Two others who were riding in the vehicle with the Broncos players were shot, but Walker, D.J. Williams, and Marshall were not injured.

Initially, it was feared that Walker also had been shot, but it was determined that the blood on his clothing was from Williams. (We really couldn't think of a more delicate way to report that specific fact, and we continue to feel nauseous about the entire ordeal. We've heard good things about Darrent Williams from members of the media, and our thoughts are with his family.)

We're told that local police have strong leads as to the suspects, and that arrests are expected to come sooner rather than later. Apparently, the bullets were fired by a group of men with whom the Broncos players had squabbled at a New Year's Eve party hosted by one or more members of the Denver Nuggets.

Channel 4 reported that Javon and Brandan Marshall were also in the limo. Don't know if that is true or not. All day it was reported that Javon was in the limo, but this was the first I heard about Brandan.

And who says they have to make these guns?

Well, since I'm a reasonable person, if by "these guns" you're referring to fully automatic weapons, then I agree. I can see no "reasonable" use for them except in a military or law enforcement situation. Although they are thrilling to fire on a range, that's not a reasonable reason to own them, not for me at least. The trouble with not making them is that we now live in a world-wide marketplace and somewhere within that marketplace someone will provide them. So you're not going to have much luck with that. Besides there are already millions if not billions in circulation.

The problem with gun laws is that someone has to draw the line in the sand as to what's legal and what's not. While I agree, as stated above, that the general public could and should do without fully automatic weapons, it doesn't stop there. Guns with genuinely reasonable, legal uses always get caught up in the mix. Like the high capacity magazine handguns (Glock 9mm and many others) for instance. And eventually they'll come after all guns period, that is the ultimate goal afterall, to disarm the American public. At least some people feel that would solve the gun violence problems that are rampant across the USA. But it won't, for the simple fact that criminals by their very definition do not follow the law. So what's the answer, I wish I knew. Personally, I think very tuff sentences would stop alot of it. By "very tuff" I'm talking going back to "swift" public executions for societies worst offenders. But at the end of the day, a killer is a killer and there isn't much you can do to prevent him/her from killing at least once.

Anyway, my heart goes out to all of Darrent's family and friends. They can seek comfort in knowing that he is in a better place where thuggs like the ones that ended his life on earth are not present.
