What posn do you guys think we need to upgrade, I know most may not agree with me but I say we start with the OL and move into the backfield. My first choice would be this guy Levi Brown OT 6'5 328 Penn St. I am tired of seeing our QB's getting pressure in their faces, it is time to move away from the small fast linemen we have, teams have caught on to it. Then we need a RB bigger than 200 lbs somone who can knock the snout out of you, Michael Bush RB 6'3 247 Louisville, granted he broke his leg early this year and nobody knows how he will rebound but this dude is nice!

I only saw portions of the game, but Levi Brown looked like a stellar prospect. He was locking down anyone he touched, and he didn't seem to have any troubles handling speed or power.

I think we would look at Levi Brown or Sam Baker from USC. I think either of those picks would mostly depend on Matt Lepsis and his recovery.

My favorite college RB from 2005 declared for the draft recently. Gary Russell from University of Minnessota. He had to miss this past season due to academic issues but he is an excellent prospect. He's 5'11 215 and actually outperformed Laurence Maroney when they were splitting time. Here are the stats of the two players from 2005.
Carry Yards TD YPC
Russell 186 1,130 18 6.1
Maroney 28 1,464 10 5.2
Russell will probably be available in the third, probably later because he hasn't played, but don't think of him as a Clarett type because he missed a year. Julius Jones missed a year as well due to academic issues. We've all seen how great Minnessota backs can be in the NFL, and they are tailor made for our running system

I can't remember exactly, but I think that Russell is more power-oriented than Maroney...something I like.
Good point about Jones, too. That might mean that Russell will go higher after workouts though...

I'd prefer Doug Free.

i live in minny min and ive been say ing this for awhile on other boards. this kid can flat out play. but your are wrong hes faster then maroney and has more power. hes got the speed of CP and has more power then M.Bell. this kid is filthy great cut backs ablity great vision and would be a frist round pick had he not flunk out of school. we could probley get him in the 3rd round

I've seen Doug Free picked by the Broncos on several Mock Drafts somewhere in the 3rd round. That could Def. Happen.

Doug Free would more than likely be our second round pick, he is a monsterous freak...sincerely, you hardly see lineman at his size able to run with a running back down into the end zone and still have breath!

Here is what all I could find out about Doug Free
http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/profile.php?pyid=13805
12/21/06 - Northern Illinois offensive tackle Doug Free entered this season as one of the more highly touted linemen in the country. He was favorably compared to former Husky Ryan Diem, who has developed into a standout right tackle for the Indianapolis Colts. Amongst the most impressive aspects about Free was his durability. While Free has maintained that durability this season, running his consecutive start streak to 48 games, the two time All-MAC performer struggled with injury in 2006 and his stock has suffered accordingly. Hampered by both a pulled groin and a stress fracture in his foot, Free has been noticeably slower out of his stance. At no time was this more apparent that in Northern Illinois' blowout loss to TCU in the Poinsettia Bowl. Free's matchup against junior defensive end Tommy Blake, the Horned Frogs best player, looked like the battle to watch for this game. The battle, unfortunately for Free and Northern Illinois, was pretty one-sided as Blake finished with 3 tackles for loss and two sacks while consistently beating Free with both outside speed and inside spins. The game served as a platform for Blake to be recognized as one of the top young pass rushers in the country, but also exposed Free as a heady, gutty blocker -- but one with limited athleticism.

In my opinion the key to this equation is the health of Matt Lepsis. Unfortunately we probably will not know if his surgery worked prior to the draft. We have some very good components as you can not forget that we drafted 2 guys that look like they have a lot of potential (Myers, and Kuper). It takes a couple of years to get them up to speed, and they both should be ready to go next year. Also a re-shuffle might do the trick. Moving Foster inside might make him an all star as he is just to slow too defend speed rushers. Pears should be a very good RT.
If Lepsis doesn't look like he will make it back then LT becomes a priority need. The next priority is D-line. The lack of pass rush continues to haunt us, and we slipped against the run this year. In regards to RB I doubt we will spend a high pick, as we finished as the 8th best rushing team. I like Bush just think we have bigger needs.
Even if Lepsis is injured, there's no way our draftee will start right away. He'll be benched for one, maybe two seasons before starting.
And seriously...I don't want us to draft an OT much more than 300lbs. Look at Foster, a "beast" but he hardly fits. I'd prefer Myers at RG next season to anyone else.
