Anyone hope we somehow get this guy?

I know he didn't pan out in Detroit but dang he'd turn our d into something that actually isn't offensive.

Yeaaaaaaaaaa...no.

Not unless we want to implement a straight up-Tampa 2 (I believe that's Henderson's base D).

Henderson's the traveling DC...frequent one year stops at various NFL cities.

PASS (for me anyways).

I don't know if he's the answer but Henderson is a Tampa 2 guy. If Lynch stays we have a hard hitting safety that's already familiar with the scheme. We have the LB crew that can play that type of scheme and fly to the ball. The only place we would lack is, again, the front four.

We don't got the right players for a cover 2 base D so no way I pass, personally I hate the cover 2 on with the type of players we have.

Still hoping we give Mora a call.

From what I remember he ran a really good defense in Jet-land but didn't fit in when they changed to 3-4 though. I don't remember him being a cover 2 guy, and actually I remember reading that him and Marrinelli dint fit well (Rod is a cover 2 guy straight up and I read Henderson likes to blitz more)

I am not saying this cuz I think we need him, but I wouldn't mind him being considered, I don't care even if Coyer stays as long as our d is better next year. I just want more bang for the buck we spend.

Both are cover 2 guys but Marinelli used Detroit's poor season as an excuse to fire Henderson so he could hire his son. Adam Schein and Jim Miller were talking about it on Sirius this afternoon. His firing was just a way to give Marinelli's son a coordinator job (he's currently the LB coach on some team, I forget which)

Or Green. Two good defensive coaches out there.

Green? As in Dennis Green?

He was an offensive coach...

Cast my vote for Jim Mora, Jr. or former Dolphins D-Coordinator Jim Bates.

BUT PLEASE, LARRY COYER, RETIRE ALREADY!!!

I could have sworn he was a defensive coach that just loved to improve the Cards Offense?

I hope I wasn't making fun of him for no good reason now...

EDIT: Nope, offensive coach. Thanks! :D

Henderson is not a true cover-2 guy. He came up in the Ravens system as the DB coach, including the record-setting superbowl year. He ran it some in NY because Herm was a T2 guy, but it never was a true T2. A lot more blitzing. His philosophy wasn't and isn't compatible with the true C2 Marinelli wanted to run in Detroit.

He was always just a placeholder until Joe Barry became available this year. Marinelli wanted to hire him last year, but he was under contract and the Bucs never let anyone out of contracts. And he just happens to be Marinelli's son in law...

Personally, I think the Broncs could do a lot better than Hendo. His defenses w/ the Jets were never really that good... He got a lot of pub because he was an up-and-coming minority coaching prospect and every team has to interview one of those when they fill a HC vacancy. His results aren't that good.

Pretty much.
