Broncomania Awards Acceptance Speech thread

So get up here, sweat gumballs, and say something worthwhile!


I'll start off:

Ahem* I would like to thank Broncomania for giving the award of Best Young Poster to Snapping Turtle. Yes, I have heard the rumors of Snk winning and yes his name is engraved in this statue, but his dying words as I strangled him with a piano wire were quite clear:

"Give this to .....Snap"

Snk was a bold young man who knew to give this award to the real winner, no not Skywalker, but Snapping Turtle.

So I ask for a round of applause for Snk's generousity. If you would like to personally thank him, he is in the 3rd stall on the left in the Men's Bathroom. And flush that toilet, I think he soiled himself.

So congrats ST! By you winning, we all are winners. And to those of you who didn't win (Skywalker), well, keep trying, I'm sure you will get a pity vote somewhere. ;)

Best Sig Maker:

I'd like to thank all those who voted for me for Best Sig Maker. It truly is an honor. The real honor is sharing my graphics with you guys and making them. My life has been getting really busy lately, but I still find the time to make the sigs and walls. Woot. I'd liek to thank all those who have given me tips (Vulcan, OrangePeel, and mrbrightside111 [love discussing it with you guys]) , all those up and coming sig makers and those who have given me a reason to try harder (Broncosfreak 56, you're doing great, keep it up). Once again, thanks for the votes, and I will continue to try and do my best to justify my receiving of the award. :beer:

Best Young Poster:

Once again, I"d like to thank all that voted for me. It makes me proud to see that I am somewhat (ahem) respected among the community. :D There are a lot of great younger posters on the board too that know a ton about football and who are just great posters, and I have to say that I'm quite proud to be able to post with them, and call them my fellow posters and friends. There's tons of adult posters here who I look up to and respect a lot, and try to become more like that, whether as a person, football knowledge, knowledge in other things, and more. Thank you to you guys. And thanks to all that voted for me.

In Conclusion:

Thank you to all who voted for me. I"d like to give a few shoutouts here:

RIP BroncoFanCam, and RIP Darrent Williams.

I won't be giving individual ones because I know I"m gonna forget someone. I'm stupid like that. But I'd like to two quick personal ones because of their involvement with the awards:

I am honored and humbled to be re-elected as winner of both the Best Rival Fan and Smack King Broncomania Awards.

Smack King
While I don't personally feel that I was deserving of a repeat in the Smack King category, I accept the award as an acknowledgement of my contributions in that forum. I feel that there are other users who would have been more suitable choices for the award, and I feel that they deserve recognition for their efforts in making the smack forum one of the best places to post on this message board:

PatsCrowEater: I know that the Patriots are much maligned by Broncos fans for their ability to win championships despite their inability to beat the Broncos, but PatsCrowEater is a great poster, no matter which team he cheers for. He's funny, he's a smart fan, he knows his football, and he is good natured, once you understand his sense of humor. I personally wish that he had at least been nominated for the award.

DevilSpawn: Although he's relatively new to the boards, I feel that DevilSpawn has been an excellent contributor both inside and out of the smack forum. He's easily one of the most creative smackers on the board, and is well received even when he's smacking down on the Broncos, and that's as a Raiders fan to boot. Again, I feel he deserved a nomination.

BoltsOwnU: The best rhymer on the board outside of Johnny Law Man. He's fun to smack talk with, and is definitely a fine contributor to the forum. I think a lot of posters here are unfamiliar with him, simply for lack of smack forum experience.

Giveemlove: GEM has been a great contributor to the smack forum, and does an excellent job of representing your Broncos there. Few do the job she does.

Best Rival Fan
This is the only award I care about. I know that I'm the infidel here, and I thank you all for looking past my team affiliation to get to know me. I enjoy this board immensely, and it would seem that I'm not the only rival to call this place their permanent home on the web. bengaaaaaals1688 confided in me the other day that he likes this place better than the Bengals boards as well, and it would seem that many fans of other teams have come to the same conclusion when comparing Broncomania to their team's home board.

I had some tough competition in this category, and I think both of my opponents for the award are deserving. Heck, KCLadyFan is far and away the highest ranked rival fan from a CP standpoint, and I'm surprised that she didn't take the award this time around. Winning when faced with the prospect of being selected over both her and DevilSpawn made my chances seem fair to middling at best.

You have all gone mad. You're insane. Absolutely bonkers. I recommend that you each give your local therapists a chance to heal you of whatever mental malady possessed you to select me for this award. I will find out who voted for me for this award, and I will systematically destroy you. You will rue this day. I am coming. And I will be without mercy.

Funniest Poster: Massive congrats to OB420 for what I think is one of the best awards there is. I think humor is essential to these boards, and to be nominated for this category is awesome in itself. To win it though, that's even more impressive. 420 has always been able to make me laugh, and I have no problem relinquishing my crown to her. (watch out next time though, OB. :laugh: )



Best newbie: I just wanted to say a quick congrats to hiswife, whom I knew would take this award easily. You are an amazing poster on the boards, and you deserve this. :beer:

Thank you kindly for your votes on the Newbie Award, I really appreciate the feedback from my friends here. Of course, this board would be rather boring if it were just the winners of the awards on the board, as it's everyone together that makes this a great place to spend time.

Chidoze and Lorcust, I felt pretty honored to be nominated along with the two of you, and thank you for making my time here that much more enjoyable in your company!

Congratulations to all the winners, as they were all people on this board that I enjoy and respect very much so. It's been a lot of laughs watching the threads and posts on this voting process and just reconfirms why I enjoy this place so much. Congrats to OB on winning funniest poster! I know I may not be #1 (or even in the top 10,000) after I stole her chocolate and replaced it with assorted broken bars and a puppy, but you definately deserve it! :D

Mount-n-Groan, I'm also glad you won, since I was one of your campaign managers against myself :laugh:. You may not be so lucky next year, I'm thinking about changing my name...... ;)

Snap, I'm sorry we didn't win. I would demand a recount, but seeing how long it took in the first place, we would have to wait until the next voting period. ;) . We won a moral victory though, one with courage, glee, and little shampoo samplers.
