He has Denver taking Josh Wilson of Maryland who happens to be the man I have been talking about on these boards for quite some time now. What a coincidence, he must be pretty good!

I told Wright he has one of the worst mocks I have ever seen for us this offseason...havent checked the response yet though... I am prolly banned from their site now lol

Me and him tend to disagree a lot though, I don't mean to come off so wrong but it upsets me that he didn't take what I had said for worth anything :P but oh well I am just a stupid fan right hah

Nononono you must not be familiar with this dude. He may not rack up interceptions but by no means does that mean he can't cover. IMO he is better that Foxworth.

Not to mention he is an awesome kick returner and his 40 time is clocked at 4.27.

Woodley in the 2nd round?!?!?

It is not a point of wether or not he is good MD, the fact that Shanahan takes a kid in the top of the draft would show little respect for Foxworth or Paymah, not to mention that the defensive back group as a whole could be upset with Shanahan. He will not add a first day corner, not with how touchy this situation already is. It would be best to add via free agency a mature corner that can understand and want to help, but going after a first day rookie...come on, talk about throwing gasoline on the fire. This unit is probably so tight right now that an outsider may not be excepted, a safety would be better then a corner, and still they may avoid both and try to mix it up with free agency.

Wow, he must be a real girly-man, no skin at all. If he can't take a little criticism, then why post a mock draft?

I don't see us grabbing a CB in the second round, even after losing D. Will.

We may even be awarded a comp pick for his loss, though I doubt it.

If we grab a CB for next year, I think it won't be before the 3rd round at the earliest.... just my :2cents:

Woodley is likely to be a 2nd Round pick right now, every draft analyst if you look at their top round...few have Woodley in round one, there is a big chance he falls. Not every defensive end will go in round one.

I thought the secondary needed help even before the D-Will incident.
Well I was just saying, you know. That's what I would do.

Yeah, at Safety, not CB.

I don't think Denver should even go CB on the first day, if at all. They ahve the best CB in the league, and 2 other more then capable ones.

And Wilson, or any CB ahead of Michael Bush and Victor Abiamiri would put Denver in the "bad pick" category.

Not that I necessarily disagree with what you are saying, but I'm not sure Shanahan sees it the same way. I know it's not the exactly the same, but if he was worried about hurting a player's feelings, I don't think he would have traded up in the first round to take Cutler. If Shanahan sees something to help the team, he'll do it regardless of how it might be perceived to an existing player on the Broncos.

Then I would pursue Reggie Nelson at saftey before a D-lineman.

Cutler and Plummer are far different, your talking a particular situation for two vastly different positions. Cornerbacks are a group, while the quarterback is the general, he stands alone he has his commanders and such, but he is unique in that he has little relief and there are not five other men waiting for his job. I know I made it sound like military strategy, but it really is similar. "Football is game of armies that battle for supremecy every sunday in hopes to be the victor in the end." - Mike Anderson.

And the chances of Denver risking a top pick on a safety is far less likely, maybe in the 3rd Round, but our depth is unrealistic as is. I think Denver if they want to improve has to bring in a starting safety in free agency, risking a top pick on a potential starter is unlikely, but there is a better chance.

Halfback, Defensive End, Defensive Tackle, Safety, Offensive Tackle and Offensive Guard - These are our key areas of need. We can likely fill one or two in free agency, since defensive end will be the commodity this off-season a starting defensive tackle and safety are highly more probable...which leaves Denver four key areas they can target with the top of the draft.

Why would we pick Wilson we can get a big brusier in Bush or a saftey in Weddle or a pass rusher in Abiamiri (even if we had gone Carriker, we could always use another). We have enough depth at corner that it won't be that big of a concern.

I don't mean to come off as fanboyish, but Scott Wright runs one of them best draft sites on the net, and he is always among the best at predicting the outcomes of drafts. Here is a site that lists the top 100 mock drafts on the net through the years, and how correct they are the day before the actual draft, and Scott's is always among the top (one year he was actually the top score). take a look

I don't think we need a DL or a RB at all.

Elvis D is a crazy pass rusher, K. Lang is the man and should start all the games. G. Warren is a good run stopper and Michael Myers can hold his own so I don't think it's a priority in the first round. Mabey a big run stopper in a late round would be good, but a D-lineman in the first round is simply a recipe for disaster, just look in the past.

Picking a RB in the first or second round would be simply ridiculus considering this teams legacy for taking late round backs and making them stars. I think Mike Bell is the next one of those. And T. Bell is a homerun threat who spell for Mike occasionally.

So in the first and second rounds it's only logical to pick an OL or a DB. IMO.

you are mistaken, big time.

DL has been our need for 3 years now, and anyone who is denying it as our biggest weakness is devoid of the ability to spot a team's need. Our pass rush was worse than mediocre last year, and most of our sacks came from the pass rushing ability of elvis (who is NOT an everydown lineman, and will probably never be one), and COVERAGE sacks (sacks as a result of bailey, williams, and foxworth completely dominating their men simulateously, giving the Dline 5-10 seconds extra to get past the Oline.

The only legitimate starter that will be returning is Gerard Warren. He has been very good at taking up blockers thus far in his Bronco career, but that talent is just useless if your ends cannot shed one block. If you put a big impact player at either DT or DE, than you are going to get mismatches in which you have 2 players who acquire extra men on, leaving free a speed rusher to come around the outside, or a DT to penetrate inside and sack the QB.

We have not had a true Homerun RB since clinton portis, and while our dual attacks the past few years have been effective, they are not the answer to trying to build a successful offense for a 5 year span, and with a young QB, a dominant RB is almost necessary to keep the extra DB's off the field on passing downs.

You say Dline being drafted in the 1st round is disaster because of the past, but the same could be said of pretty much every position in football. Dline is actually one of the safer bets to draft on day one because the raw talent and potential that allows most college players to get drafted early is what makes great Dlinemen (along with superior coaching). I think if you can grab a top tier DE in this draft, you do it, because there is a difference between a Quentin Moses, and an Anthony Spencer type.

i think we are better off at safety than we are at DT and DE. i like Nelson alot, but i would prefer a lineman. that being said, how high do you guys think Okoye will go? this mock has him at 9. id say thats a bit early. regardless, if he somehow slips to 21, i want him, i think thats a no brainer.

I guess we'll just wait till april to find out then.Getting a D line that c an get to the qb faster an more efficently mean less time that a cornerback has to cover and i think foxworth is a decent corner with a better line i would say it would even make him better if we got a guy that can the qb make a quicker decision....no matter how good a cornerback is if you cant get to the qb and get pash rush it makes the gusy cover longer. just look at peyton manning this year in the playoffs and then look back at the denverr game agaisnt the colts .. even though baltimore uses a 3-4 they still get to the qb and basicaly thats half the battle ed reed a heck of a safety makes almost what 4 picks

I dont doubt his talent at other teams. But from my experience his reasoning behind Denvers picks so far seems shady at best. Plus from what I have heard he has absolutedly no cred wit Denver picks yet sticks to the same old strategy.

Anyone who makes Corner our number 2 team need and mentions its cuz D.Will died loses some cred to me.

im not impressed with this guy and no way are we burning our 2nd rounder on this bloke! if at all we are going to draft a corner we better do it in the 6th or 7th.
