Speaking in terms of Fantasy Football. Any predictions on who will be the top runningback this season? Lots of question marks with Priest Holmes playing. How bout Faulk...can he rebound?. Is Portis the man he claims to be? Just a thought.

I think you have to consider Ricky Williams. The Miami coach has talked about getting the ball in Ricky's hands even more this season then he did last year.

I would also have to go with Ricky. My picks would be:
1. Ricky Williams
2. Ahman Green---Farve may not make through the year
3. Charlie Garner--- only because the age of the Raiders
Tie between
4. Travis Henry and L. Tomlinson (Check spelling)
I don't think Marshall well be the back he was. He will score some and put up good numbers, but I would go with someone that doesn't have a whole lot of talent around him for great numbers.

I would have to go with either Ricky Williams or Ladanian Tomlinson for my #1 pick.
If Favre doesn't make it through the year then you might as well get rid of Green. Every opponent will put 8 and 9 men in the box to stop the run and with the backup QB's that Green Bay have I don't think anyone would be too afraid of the passing game.

My number 1 pick is definitely portis! He rushed for 1508 yards and even split carries with Gary at the begining of the season. He also scored 15 touchdowns + 2 more receiving. Hes got the speed and the moves needed for a 2000 yrd season. he avaraged 5.1 yrds a carry as a rookie. That is the second best in history: only under Franco Harris. His stats can only get better with the talented players around him. If Jake sucks, Portis will get more carries, if he doesn't, portis will do great too. Its a win win situation. Portis is the type of player that is also consistent. You can count on him producing fantasy points every week. He is not a guy like Shaun Alexander who scores half of his touchdowns in one game. Portis will definitely be on top when the season is through.
2. Tomlinson
3. the Rickmeister
4. Deuce
5. the Priest

Portis is a good back don't get me wrong, but Denver is cursed right now. First TD then O. Gary and then Mike Anderson all had injuries or bad second years. We put to much pressure on our backs, plus Griff may get some playing time. Portis wants more money. I know he said it won't affect his game but coaches know about things like this. If Denver can't get his contract right they know he will be out the door so they would need somone to step up. Why else would they take 2 promising young tailbacks in this years draft. If Portis can get his mind off his money and play like the back he did last year. He will have a career year, with a larger contract at the end. Or he can ask for more and get less playing time because of it. I like to call this the Barry Sanders syndrome.

In the late rounds, because I'msure he'll still be around, pick up Trung Candidate. You'll be pleasantly surprised!
