Yeah, there's a few going.

And I'm shocked that we got a 4th Rounder for him. I was thinking 5th at best.

That's pick #98 in the draft, which outside compensatory selections is and will be worth around 100 value points. Nice.

dont ever underestimate a qb that know how to win. jake my have won ugly but he was a winner here. plus jake also know the system which is a big plus. i personally thought shanny would get a mid 3rd for him.but i can live with a high 4th.

Does that worry you? Garcia's tiny self will be smashed into a paste behind that o-line.

Even if we did get garcia, he wont be the starter.

Andrew walter. He deserves a chance, and i think he'll win the spot.

From the link....

"Under the terms being discussed, the Broncos would receive a middle-round draft choice, believed to be a fourth-rounder, in exchange for Plummer. The trade could be announced as early as Friday."

If we learned anything yesterday, it's that these reports could be incorrect....

We could possibly get better than a 4th, or possibly worse....

More than likely, the report will end up being correct, however, the possibility exists that we may land a 3rd for Jake....

It remains to be seen :coffee:

I dont question his toughness. I just think our young guy needs a real chance to prove himself.

I agree. He has not been given an oppurtunity to really prove himslef yet w/ the o-line playing as they played in the 8 games he started and specially how your guys wide receivers contributted.

With that said.. Garcia is going to be Oaklands #1 priority right now. He will serve as a back up but a good mobile back up.

I really hope the Broncos make a go for him but I can see the raiders over paying him and beating out the other teams right now

after the way he criticized the team last year and complained? no way. Garcia goes to the Raiders, its to be a starter. He won't go anywhere unless he's the starter. He'll have too many offers for that. He sure as heck wouldn't go to the Raiders for the 'honor' of playing for that team.

I am sorry but I have to disagree. I saw Walker play and "right now" Garcia is a lot better. Garcia said last night that we would like to be a Raider and that the QB coach is who he worked with for four years at San Fran.

Walker in the future may turn out to be ok, but the Raiders need to win now but not against Denver :D

I dont know about the rest of my raider bretheren, but i dont want garcia. Sure, walter complained.... however, i think anyone would have witht he way the offense played this past year. I can understand his frustration, and, at least he just didnt quit on us like moss did.

The Raiders need to win NOW? why? Because they have a Super Bowl caliber team?? If they believed Walters to be their future QB, then NOW is the perfect time for them to stay with him. The team is lacking in talent, and this is the first year with a new HC. There is no reason to believe they need to win now... not if they actually believe that Walters is a NFL starter (which I don't). I think Walter proved last year that he's NOT a starter... hence the interest in Garcia.

Technically Plummer was a backup this season because of the way he played. Sometimes backup QBs can get a second rounder (AJ Feeley to Miami trade) but not usually.

Of course garcia is better than walter at this point. Thats just plain experience. I think with the staff we have now, walter will be able to develop the way he's supposed to.

No.. NOT everyone does. Thats just it. The headspace in Oakland is to whine, complain, moan and groan when things don't work out... but that DOESN'T mean you go complaining about everything under the sun about the team TO the media.... ESPECIALLY when you are an NFL QB.

Yeah... I was expecting a 4th rounder. We couldn't expect him to grab a higher round than McNair did last year.

Well, if we would have had real leadership, then walter would have been set straight on those kinds of things. The guy's only 24 or 25. You cant really expect him to handle the media with such experience. That kind of thing gets learned by being in the league.

every once in awile a team overpays for a backup on potential. Remember Feely was coming up as opposed to a 10 year vet coming off a putrid season.

Very true. Like Ravage said, after the McNair deal a 4th is fair market value for that type of vet.

I just noticed that but thought they had a 3rd comp. pick also... so i guess it is most likley going to be pick #98 which is just over 100 points.

Good move for both teams

I think Jake Plummer can win that job. If Calvin Johnson falls to them as expected, dont be surprised for Jake to have a great year. I think its a good situation for him. He wont have to sport that caveman beard anymore either.
