View Full Version : Can we still sign Kerny w/ the Plummer situation going on?

Since Plummer has refused the trade, can we still sign Kerny tonight and get the deal finalized, or do we have to either get Jake to file the retirement papers or accept the trade to free up the cap?
If what i am saying is true, Plummer is holding this franchise in hostage, and those commending him for it are wrong. I will be furious (along with others) if Kerney is allowed to leave Denver and go to Seattle tonight just because Plummer is hogging cap room.
Need some clarification please

If we traded Jake, his cap hit would be about the same as if he were still on our roster. Therefore, it will make little difference in our negotiations with Kerney.
My question is, where the heck did we get the money to go after all these guys? The last I heard we were somewhere between $2.5 million and $4.5 million under the cap. All these guys we're looking at are exepensive.

Probably the restructure of Warren and Smith's contract gave us a couple million more.
That would be my guess. I dunno.

I heard the restructure of Warrens contract would save us about 5 mill. But thats what I heard it may not be true.

Well in Madden, Warren has a FAT contract. And I mean REALLY fat contract. Something like 35 mil 5 years 12 mil signing bonus.
But that's just Madden. I'm pretty sure it's accurate though.

Warren has about 30 million remaining over 5 years. The restructure could save at least a couple million a year.

They could potentially get Kerney to agree to a deal but not sign it until they have finished with the Plummer ordeal and all of the restructures, make it official.

I think you can go over the cap just as long as you are under it by a certain date. I don't know what the date is though....

Yes you can go over, but I think you are penalized each day you remain over.
I think.....

Madden is so unrealistic its hilarious. :goofy:
I still dont know why people pull stuff from it like it's fact. "He's good in madden so we should sign him"
Sorry, :offtopic:

Pretty sure the rule is that the league will not knowingly okay a contract that puts a team over the cap, but if they do so by accident, it's a fine of something like a million dollars a day against the team.
Side note: Many of the contracts in Madden are accurate. I'm not sure just how many, though.
