Now that Plummer was a punk and took our draft pick away, or that is what it seems so far. Look for him to be traded for a later 4th round or 5th round pick to Houston, thats where he wants to be. But if we do get nothing then I am very depressed right now so I would love to see some signings. I know its hard to tell but how soon can we expect to sign either Kerney, Graham, Green, McGahee, etc?

if no news has reported any signings then that is not a good sign. we may have been offering way to low for these guys.
like i said before "the broncos are window shopping with no money in their wallets"
graham and kerney are visiting the seahawks today and they have more than enough room to sign both players. also graham is going to visit the raiders and kerney will visit the vikes. this doesnt look good for us to land either of them.
My question: Where is Kerney right now? I've read that Denver's intent on keeping him in town until he signs, but I've also read that he's already in Seattle.
If he's in Seattle, we've probably already lost him. If not, we'll be finding out what happened very soon.

One of the reasons the offers might be low (if they are) is because we're courting a number of guys and once one of them is signed the offers might be going up. We might be hoping to sign all or a lot of them at the moment. I really want Graham though. Kerney would be nice too.

What do you guys think about the trade with bly, do you think it was a smart move or not?

Kereny leaves this evening. But from what I've hear he doesn't have any other visit so we could know tomorrow or monday. Graham has a couple more visitis so who knows.

i think it was a smart move. when you have the chance to get another playmaker at corner you have to take it. im glad to the broncos are tryin to get impact players.

Look. I don't think getting Kerney is as important as many here has made it out to be. I think a draft pick or two can do about the same, and the Broncos are better off than last year. Bly assures that. Even Green or McGahee would be luxuries, IMHO, because a decent RB can be had in the draft as well.
Some of the candidates could be helpful, no doubt, but the sky will not fall if the Broncos are able to get just one of them. They will need to get Johnson or Wright for a backup QB, but I think that is the only MUST HAVE position.
So, sit back, relax, and let the FO build the team the way they think it ought to be. The core is still there, and I think it portends a good team for next year.

This is exactly right!
According to the Post, Denver TRIED to keep Kerney in town till he signed, but it didn't work. Seattle sent his former coach Jim Mora to DIA to make sure he got on a plane to Seattle last night! So, they got him out of town before the Broncos could sign him.
Now that he's in Seattle, he'll sign there or in Oakland for more money. Probably a LOT more money!
The Broncos did the same thing last year trying to sign John Abraham and T.O. and losing out on the bidding for Andre Carter (who signed in D.C. before he was scheduled to fly to Denver).
Same thing again this year. Broncos are quick out of the gate, but fade in the stretch and wind up with nothing.
I think their only chance of another signing might be a trade for Willis McGhee. That way if they offer enough McGhee (who isn't a FA) would HAVE to go to Denver. No way he could be lured by teams with a LOT more money to throw around.
Maybe Shanahan will LEARN something from this about the need to DRAFT DL the way the Patriots do.
But, that means Denver's DL will SUCK again this year because it SUCKED last year and a rookie isn't going to be able to come right in and suddenly turn into an all-pro. No matter how good he may be, it will take some time.
So, IF Denver drafts a guy like Charles Johnson it will be a season or two before he's really a force on the DL.
Perhaps Dumervil will develop into the player we all hope, but he's rather small, so I doubt he'll ever be more than a situational pass-rusher.
That would be O.K. I guess. But, it would sure be nice to have a REAL honest to goodness ELITE pass-rushing DL -- which the Broncos haven't had since 2000 when Trevor Pryce went to the pro-bowl. :coffee:
