Sources say liklihood of this happening is high. Clearly Shanahan would like to give Cutler more note-taking time on the sidelines. What do you all think?

I think you didn't name your sources.

EDIT: I also think that Shanny sees Cutler as a starter now.

Cutler will still be the starter. Bledsoe will be taking the notes.

I think if Mike wanted Jay to take notes he would not have made him the starter last year :coffee:

Without any link for credibility, i chalk this thread up to what you'd like to see happen. I have heard nothing of the sorts. Besides, why would shannahan pull plummer mid-season, and put cutler in, only to make jay sit the sideline this year?? Doesnt make sense. :coffee:

Jays unarguably the starter. I'd be happy with Bledsoe has a backup as long as he doesn't want big money. I like him more than Johnson.

Well I think Cutler would still be taking notes on the sidelines, just inbetween plays or drives. Cutler is still young and is still developing. 5 games as a starter isn't sufficient enough for us to say that he can do it on his own. He still needs a veteran on the team to teach him and guide, especially since Jake is gone.

Bledsoe will be taking notes, and if called upon, will be taking medicine because he will be hit and spend much time on his ass looking at the sky as he can't move his feet.

If this is true, this is quite possibly the worst signing that any team will make all year

That is one rip cord I would not want to pull. i think i could go faster backwards than bledsoe could run forward. No disrespect, he's had a great career. But there is a time for all QB's to call it quits. AFC west D's would sack him ten times a game or he would be throwing that many INT's, one or the other.

Bledsoe, even as a backup, would be a poor match for us. The style of our o-line basically dictates you need a quarterback who can run for his life 2/3 of the time, and Bledsoe has never shown the ability to run for his life at all.

i think admin should get rid of trolls like yourself and enforce threads have to have sources or more than a few lines.

sit down sparky and take some notes yourself.

never will happen!!!!!!!!

bledsoe is a statue, he cant run a boot leg or anything, thats our whole offense. we would be better with rod smith playing emergency qb then bledsoe.

we have to have a qb that is atleast somewhat mobile. bledsoe is slower than elam!!!!

I don't think this is realistic at all, Bledsoe is washed up and he CAN'T MOVE.

I think that Anthony Wright is a better option at this point.

Its not the whole offense. It may seem that way because Plummer was horrible from the pocket so they had to rollout but its not the entire offense.

That's true... I guess that Beuerlein wasn't all that mobile and he did alright when we needed him.

I like Drew Bledsoe as a QB just not our QB. He isn't mobile in any sense of the word and at times we need to boot leg. With the way our offense moves around why would you want a backup who can't move with him. He just doesn't fit our system.

Watch if we sign him (Which we will because I like these sources :shake: ) The season opener..

"Penalty on Denver delay of game @ 12:35 second quarter" (Bledsoe was still running out of the tunnel to get to the bench)

And what good would he be? From his performance in Dallas I hardly see him as a quality backup.

I hope Bledsoe can pass along some wisdom to Cutler. I'm not talking about Bledsoe's own wisdom. I'm talking about the things he learned from Brady in 2001.

No, truthfully I think it can only help to have an experienced backup to help a young player develop and come in if needed.

Bledsoe is NOT a good fit to our system, our linemen is made for young QB that can at least scramble and running system. Bledsoe will bleed to death if he is our backup QB.
