the patriots are overloaded on recievers
Randy Moss
Dante' Stallworth
Reche Caldwell
Wes Welker
Kelly Washington
Chad Jackson
forgive me if i am forgeting anyone
scenario 1) what we need to do is offer the Pats Sam brandon or some other defensive player for Reche Caldwell because he is most likely to get cut out of them all because they signed Kelly Washington and Wes Welker meaning they want him. because he will likely be cut the pats will listen to minimum offers for him because they would like to get something for him.
scenario 2) Caldwell gets cut and we make him a early season aquisition.
though scenario 2 is a better choice and we have to give up less, # 1 gives us a better chance of getting Caldwell who could be our #2 or #3 guy
Caldwell proved he was an elite #2 reciever and i would love to have him to help boost our recieving core

He looked good last year because he had that one guy Tom throwing him the Ball. Look what he did in San Diego.

Why make a trade when one of those guys might get released? We should just hold off for a while and see how things go.

If he is most likely to get cut why trade for him?
Why can't we just pick him off from free agency then.

What we do is wait to play them and have:
Champ shutdown Moss
Bly shutdown Stallworth
Foxworth shut down Welker
Brandon shut down Watson
Moss and Elvis bury Brady

Did Chad Jackson do anything last year? I remember us being projected to take him last year.. I believe he was the top reciever in the draft. Out of those I would want him the most. I don't trust the attitude of Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth is not consistant, and Reche Caldwell, Wes Welker, and Kelly Washington are overrated/overhyped. Chad Jackson is young and potentially good.

We need a below-average WR why? It's not like we're really hurting for receivers or anything.

Nah I can see him dropping a few TD passes this year, and then being all...
 Sorry. My eyes are SO huge, I couldn't focus on the ball. I was actuallying looking at that hot Bronco cheerleader over there... I can see a full 360 degrees with these things all at the same time, did you know that?! Sometimes I even get Sattelite TV and Radio on these things. It's why I never blink. I sure am glad my dad smacked me in the back of the head with a hockey stick when I was little!! Popped my eyes RIGHT out!

bad move IMO...
Sam Brandon is very underrated.
His injury last year coincided with our defense fading.
Brandon played the big nickel formations and was very valuable in doing so. He's not a playmaker and probably never will be, but he is a very good role player and special teamer.
Caldwell wouldn't get many opportunities here anyway. Brandon needs to stay, especially since safety is probably one of our weakest overall positions.

We certainly don't need to give up a key player at safety to get one. I don't think our safeties are as naked as everyone else does (though we need to be drafting people soon, 'cos they ain't gettin' younger) but Brandon is one big reason why. I can't keep track of all our good WRs; Javon, Rod, Marshall and Kircus are at the top of the list, and I'd like to work Graham and Scheff in every now and then, y'know? That still leaves Morgan, Hixon and the WR we just signed, so, no, sorry, don't want more, thanks, but I'll take a good backup MLB with much appreciation. ;)

Randy Moss- Hasnt done anything to impress me in the past few years.
Dante Stalworth- Has never really done anything except get injured.
Reche Caldwell- HA! Yeah, i am supposed to be afraid of an old chargers receiver!
The other 3 arent even worth commenting on. Id rather have Lelie back then any of them. And that isnt saying much. Just because they are on the patriots roster doesnt make them golden gods.

Sam Brandon is our best safety. I want him to start, but if not, he still locks down EVERY big time TE we face.
As others have alluded to, I dont want this  in Denver

he's been quite the bust so far for NE, but to be fair to him, he hasn't even been healthy at the nfl level yet.
on a related note, i personally hate wrs from florida university.

Chad Jackson played a little last year, showed some good things, but was injured, this year he has already been put on the PUP list and it is anyones guess when and if he will play.
Normaly a reciever is supposed to see the catch, the problem with Reche Caldwell is that he sees the catch, the defenders around him, and about 2/3 of the stadium with those enormous eyes, he can not concentrate.
Moss, he is trouple. If he is happy and subsequently decides to play most of the snaps, he will be a free agent with a huge contract somewhere else next summer. Of course if he stinks up the place, he will be a free agent with a huge footshaped bruise on his behind next summer.
Stallworth is Ashley Lelie who is being paid more, the Eagles were actualy better WITHOUT him last season.
Caldwell would be a god if his talent was as big as his eyes, unfortunately, he is just another butterfingered backup.
Welker played reasonably well for a very poor team last year, he is not even the second coming of Deion Branch.
Kelly Washington is a fast depth guy, I would take Kircus over him any day of the week.
Chad Jackson is physically not fit to play football right now.
