Elvis Dumervil starting? NO way he is only a situational 3rd down pass rusher at the moment, Jarvis Moss or Tim Crowder will most likely be there. And no way in hell Demetrin Veal takes the spot from Marcus Thomas, unless he stabs someone in training camp. :P

I think you have the closest to the starting lineup at the beginning of the season, around six games into it I see Marshall starting (if not way sooner) and I can see Moss playing a lot more and possibly starting if he can achor himself against the run.

Brandon is our best safety. He locks down every big time TE we play. Gates did absolutely NOTHING against us when Brandon played, but this year, when he wasnt, Gates picked us apart. Its ridiculous how people cant see his value still :coffee:

With Bates liking to play a lot of man, I expect Brandon to be on the field quite a bit in nickle and dime packages. Will depend on the matchups. We still do need that centerfield type safety for when we play teams like the Colts that go 3 wide.

I don't discount the possibility of either Moss or Crowder being a starter from day one, especially Crowder. Moss is the prototypical DE for the new scheme and will probably be a starter by the end of the season. Maybe I'm just a little down on the Browncos because of last season, but I really think we seriously upgraded the talent on the line this year. I think it's mostly just the "experts" that have labelled Moss and Crowder as situational pass rushers. None of the coaches have made any statements regarding them being situational pass rushers. Kenard Lang has already come out saying that if they want his job they're going to have to come get it. That tells me that it's open competition for the starting jobs.

Correction, you think they will ;)

The punter position is up in the air. I believe that Domonique will put up a proper fight for the #2 CB spot. He's a good player plus I've got to support an Oxford-born guy :D

I put Myers in at RG simply because he has the most time in our system. It's very rare for a lineman to come to Denver and start straight off the bat no matter where they're from. The coaches seem to like him and he seems to work hard at it. I'd like to see him in there.

What I remember reading was coming from Sudquist. Obviously the intent is that at least one and hopefully both Moss and Crowder will be starters eventually. Thomas on the other hand, I can see him starting immediately.

Anyway, you could be right because that could happen in camp.

I like thismock for two reasons. One, it has Domonique as our CB, I've always wanted him to be our starter since the passing of D-Will because I think he deserves a shot and has the talen for the position. I also like how down to earth you are with Rod as our #2, Marshall may be more athletic, but Rod knows the playbook inside and out, has been in this system for over a decade, and provides any QB we field with a very reliable target.

There's a reason the Broncos wanted Rod to take a pay cut. It wasn't just about cap space. They seem to expect Marshall to win the starting job. If Rod can hold the kid off, great, I'm all for it, but the fact is Rod can't protect Walker the way Marshall can, if he continues to progress. If Rod is the starter, Walker is probably going to be seeing a lot of double teams.

I'm sure Foxy will have a chance to win the starting job in TC, but I doubt he will be the starter. It's not likely that they would have brought in Bly if they had faith in Foxy being the starter.

Not even close, sorry, but no. Smith is there for special teams, its between Kuper and Holland at RG, and Meadows and Pears at RT. On defense, Dumervil and Lang wont rotate, itll be Lang and a rookie on 1st and 2nd, and Dumervil on 3rd. Engleberger wont even make the final roster IMO. Ekuban is our best all-around Dlineman, and he's not even on there! And I NEVER want to see Champ anywhere on special teams, he's way to valuable.

After further review, this one is so far off, I cant even begin to tell you....

Unless Holdman's good enough to be there. As much (more) as it sounds like our MLB will be used in Bates system, I think we have to be prepared for D.J. to be out some. I don't like it, but I'm trying to be realistic, not plan a SB trip on best case scenario. If it happens I don't wanna have a dinged up SLB move over and be replaced by someone from the second team; I'd much rather have a guy we signed as an NFL MLB backup D.J. From the way Sundquist was talking about Holdman in his Q&A it sounds like he'll either be starting at SLB or backing up D.J., and... I dunno. I'm not really thrilled with how Webster backed up Al last year, but Holdman's our heaviest LB. What's the profile on Vaughn, by the way? He's 6-4, which is a lot taller than any of our other LBs, so if he's got the speed to handle coverage I'd love to see him at MLB in a few years and D.J. back at SLB. Unless D.J.'s a brutal MLB and Vaughn goes through the same process he is: SLB to MLB.

I do like the idea of Lynch playing smashmouth at SS; he's our biggest (and oldest) safety, and I think Brandon/Fergy and Lynch could be lethal.
