I think I'm just going to go ahead and get this. The story just seems too good to pass up... even for a MMO. I'm getting the Vita on Februray 22nd and the only game that I care about from this point on is Mass Effect 3 and that's in March. After that, there's not really anymore games that I would choose over this aside from Halo 4 which is basically another year away. So after I buy the Vita, I'll probably just go ahead and buy this.

Hopefully I don't regret it though.

I brought the game but haven't played it yet since I haven't had much time, but I did sample it at ComicCon last year. Got a cool Sith t-shirt. Is there any letdown?

    1) Bioware/EA is running on a poor game engine. Many people with stellar computers are experiencing poor frames per second, including myself.
    2) Lots of post-release bugs, as is expected.
    3) There is a problem for some where the loading screens between maps freeze and you have to "end task" or attempt key combinations.

    Those are my biggest annoyances.

are you using SLI? in beta people were having bad frame rate because it was not optimized but i find it hard to believe they still have not optimized it yet.

i got a mid range computer and graphics card and it gets decent frame rate but i guess it depends on what you consider decent lol

i haven't had any loading screen issues other than the long loading times on some planets.

my main issue with the game right now is pvp. the open pvp on the pvp servers is fundamentally flawed and always playing huttball because of the server faction balance is annoying as well.

they are working on fixing it but i just don't know how they will fix open pvp. you never run into pvp because the two factions don't ever run into each other like they did in wow for example.

pve wise i am very happy with the game so far.

Most games in general aren't fully optimized for SLI/Crossfire. Not expecting a MMO to be any different.

Holy CRAP... did anyone else read the news that this game cost $200 MILLION to develop???

For that much money you'd think the game would be revolutionary to the MMO genre, but it's basically WoW with a Star Wars theme. I mean Skyrim only had a budget of about $60 million I think. I know it's a MMO with a tons of content... but wow. They better hope they can make some of that back.

yeah, that's been known for some time now. it really is because of the sheer amount of content, all the servers they need to run the game on, the 900+ voice actors they need to pay......

that is another reason why there is a subscription fee. if they got a million subscribers paying $15 a month, combined with initial sales of the game.....it will pay for itself in just a few months.

although considering how they are still pumping out a lot of content who knows how much they are spending?

most mmo's cut a lot of their developers after the game launches and just go with a small post launch team to create new content.

bioware hasn't cut their staff at all and apparently plan to aggressively release new content.

to me that is even crazier than the 200 mil number.

Playing on EU servers make PvP problematic for me, especially with 250 ms latency. When Huttball is the only thing you can play because of faction balance, it doesn't do me any good.

Soo... I made a Jedi Guardian and I've got him up to level 33 now.

    Imperial Agent

    Operative

Acid Blade: Now provides 30% armor penetration while active.
Jarring Strike: This ability now knocks the target down for 1.5 seconds.
Hidden Strike: The damage output of this ability has been decreased by approximately 20% to control burst damage and because it was enabling significantly faster than intended kills in PvP.
i am re-rolling because of that hellish nerf.

i already play the least played class in the game yet its the only one to get nerfed? not only nerfed but an extremely bad nerf.

yet the sith sorc can heal and dps better than anyone and its no wonder that its the most played class in the game.

That is about how long an MMO is good for...3 months. Then the next MMO release rolls out and servers become ghost towns, or players bail back to WOW/EQ2/LOTR.

How is the community? Have not really had that great community feel since EQ/Ultima. WOW was okay for a while in the end game, but after a couple weeks it was just a grind and all gear score.

Someday a really good sandbox will come out, still waiting.

When the F is Guild Wars 2 coming out...at least the PVP arena's were fun.

The GW2 beta hits in March. So I'd imagine it comes out towards the end of Spring.
