its similar to wow when it comes to death penalties except you don't go on corpse runs and its much easier to repair your gear because you can repair it at any vendor in the game.
there is also a medical droid (who is also a vendor that can repair your stuff) at each medical center (where you respawn) so there really is never an issue repairing your gear at all.
but yeah, there is item durability loss like in wow.
the pvp in swtor is disapoointing IMO, especially the open world pvp. you will rarely get in a fight in the open world, at least on my server. but if you are on a highly populated server it may be better, not sure though.
its because most of the time you are questing in different areas and have to go looking for the enemy instead of running into them by accedent like in wow
there are a couple planets at higher level where you run into the enemy more frequently but its still kind of disapointing.
that said, you can queue up for warzones starting at level 10 but unless you already have sprint (used to be a level 14 skill but i think you get it at level 1 now) i would reccomend waiting until level 14.
although it kind of depends on your class, some class's don't get some of their very important skills until level 30+ but you can always try it and see what you think.
for sure, i cant wait.
