Broncos Cheating Ways started Long before the 90's

I know a lot of smack is going around this year about the Broncos and how bad they suck, and also the Chargers as their record sucks too with just 1 more win than the Broncos through 8 games.

So, I thought I would bring another smack topic into the mix. I was at a party and this Patriot fan got into this heated discussion with a bunch of us Charger fans about the facts surrounding the NE Patriots cheating scandal. This guy said cheating has been going on for a long time in the NFL. He also reminded me that the Broncos team was one of the first cheaters in the NFL. I said, "oh yeah, they cheated the salary cap you mean. so they could build the new stadium and also keep Elway and other players around while doing it"...and he said "oh no sir, there is another incident that happened a long long time again in the early futile years of the Denver Broncos. I said really, tell me more....

"OK, there was this new HC that was hired back in 1962. His name was Jack Faulkner. At that time the Broncos had the most horrid and disgusting uniforms in the NFL...you know those candy ass vertical stripped socks and putrid crap brown and piss yellow colors? Well, this is the dude that decided to hold a public burn festival where (one by one) each player walked up to the bone fire and tossed in their vertical stripped socks which was the summer before the season started. Faulkners first game as the new HC/GM of the Broncos was vs Sid Gillmans Chargers who realized the only way to beat the Chargers was to cheat.

"As the story unfolds, Faulkner hired spies to infiltrate San Diego practices and placed hidden microphones in the Chargers locker room. Then on game day Faulkner and his Broncos waited until nearly kickoff to take the field. The cheating resulted in the Broncos winning that day by a score of 30-21 and again in the 2nd match-up 23-20. After starting the season with a 6-1 record Faulkner's Broncos completely collapsed and put it in reverse with a 1-6 record with a final 7-7, .500 record. Sound familiar? The next year a curse came over the Denver Broncos and Faulkner who's name got mixed up with an ex-convict who started using his name to forge checks, cheating the banking system.

In 1963 Faulkner (like his moronic twin McDaniels) got rid of many of the teams veteran players, coaches, and their QB...basically cleaned house. Sound familiar? The 1963 cursed Broncos would win no more than 2 games in Faulkners 2nd year as HC going 2-11-1 that year. In Faulkner's 2nd match up with Sid Gillman's Chargers the frustration of the campaign exploded in the season finale on December 22 when Gillman's powerhouse Chargers defeated Denver 58-20. Faulkner accused his then good friend Sid of running up the score, with San Diego scoring a touchdown in the final minute, then going for two points before trying an onside kick with six seconds left. The controversy put a severe strain on the two coaches' friendship.

In 1964, after losing 4 games in a row to start off the season, the cheater was finally fired. So please don't ride our ass for cheating as Faulkner with the Broncos was one of the first to pull it off which it then back fired in his face."

I was standing there with all my Charger friends in total asstonishment as I had never heard this story before. Wow, i mean WOW. I knew the Broncos cheated the salary cap to keep all those great players around to help them win 2 super bowls but to cheat against Sid Gilman's Chargers? Desperation! That is low class. In the 1960's people were usually more conservative. I'm wondering if the dude was ever fined by the NFL after this story came out. I'm also wondering if the curse is hitting the Broncos again this year because of their cheating ways from the 1960's. I wouldn't put it past McD to try and cheat the Chargers in some way shape or form seeing how he was there when Belichick cheated while he was a Patriots coach. I think the Chargers need to sweep the locker room for McD planted mics and other possible cheating equipment and paraphernalia.

For any of you donk doubters proof is right here in this link....

    Boltman-

I realize that a lot of this stuff my be pertinent to you personally because you were in college at the time. It's a time of life when everything comes alive and you really begin to form strong opinions and personal standards..I get that.

However, most of us weren't alive then so it might be more difficult to connect to something in the black and white era as opposed to, oh, something like a defense full of HGH users, you know what I'm sayin'?

Thank you to my grandfather jetrazor for being a veteran of the armed forces!

It could be true, but I see absolutly no viable reference. Care to provide anyone besides a Pats fan that could have read the same Wiki article?

To further prove my point(Direct Quote from Wiki)-
He hired spies to infiltrate San Diego practices and placed hidden mikes in the Charger locker room
He hired a bunch of guys named Mike to stand in the locker room and the Chargers didnt notice? Fools LOL

Wikipedia is not a credible source. Sorry.

...and maybe, just maybe, the reason teams needed to cheat to beat the Chargers in the 60's was because they were the most roided up team in history

Hmm, funny, there is no source on that. Which makes me believe some Chargers troll edited it.

Since we are allowed to bring up the past, can we talk about Super Bowls?

And academically approved sources written by white, wealthy, privaleged, and powerful individuals should never be questioned.

I'm glad wiki is out there. Just like everything else, it's up to you to decide what is true or false.

Doltman, if you ever attended school, you would understand wikipedia is not a reliable source, far from it.

In fact, I am willing to bet you wrote half the crap on that page.

Doltman, you are a bunch of fail.

As others have stated, there are no citations at all in that Wikipedia article. If they had some sources listed, I would believe what you are saying but it is questionable at this point. I will not go as far as to accuse you of altering that Wikipedia page or say some Chargers fans vandalized it, but I will question the authenticity of the story until further proof is presented to back up these claims.

Even looking at the revisions, there has been no recent alterations regarding the spying or cheating so I would go ahead and say that the page has not been vandalized by Chargers fans with the intentions of fooling us, specifically, at this time. But who knows if a Charger fan had intentions in fooling someone else back further.

    From the Wiki article:

"...and found the Chargers had been handing out Dianabol, a steroid, 3 times a day..."
