What year did the BCS era start? I seem to remember Nebraska beating Florida in 95 and Tennessee in 97.

1998 was the first year the year after Nebraska and Michigan were co champs.

Tennessee won the inaugural BCS championship. And the SEC has never lost it to another conference in the BCS era.
