What happened to my post count?

This is not a big deal or anything but i seemed to have lost about 40 posts from yesterday to today as i think when i logged off yesterday i had like 2,925 & when i posted today i was at 2,885.

Just curious what happened & if anybody else had this happen or notice it at all.

We're doing a massive cleanup of derelict threads across all the forums.

It's probably a result of the thousands of threads being cleaned up by the staff, who by the way are working really hard for you guys.

There are a lot of threads and posts here. While I doubt we'll be able to get everything, every member of the staff is working their butts off this offseason to make your community better.

I mean thousands of threads and hundreds of thousands of posts are being sorted through.

I just wanted you to know that.

Probably not. Probably just bad threads that later got locked or trashed or something.

Just as an example guys over 7200 old threads were cleaned up in smack alone today. It is not even the biggest section. It should only have a bigger effect on long term members as alot of the purging is years old.
Smack from 2003 is pretty funny to read now, but has no value to keep around.

SO 7200 threads from smack were all deleted? Will deleting all those real old threads make the site run faster? Because I agree, reading old threads or posts or anything can be amusing at times, but I'm all for having the place cleaner and a better community as well.

That is a question for Alastor to answer. I would assume it would make things faster. There was over 500 pages of smack dating back to '03. Many of which had a couple or no responses. That is the stuff we are cleaning up.
