Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Im watching elway vs montana (chiefs) is it me?...
Or does john elway play just like tebow? Its on nfl network. The entire game it felt like i was watching tebow!
I see the familiarity and parallels constantly, but it makes a lot of fans furious to even suggest it.
Let me just say I see the differences, too ( to Elway's credit). But there's no question in my mind that I see Tebow as an "Elway mold" if Tebow becomes what my highest hopes are. And Elway "type," not saying an equal of Elway.
Believe it or not, I agree with this. Which is why signing Manning could be hugh for us. It'll give Tebow atleast another 2yrs to work on his craft, if the EFX decides that he's worth keeping. Signing 18 is the only person who can keep the roaring fans from attacking.
I think if Manning comes he plays out what's left of his career and we draft someone to replace him, if that happens it happens I'd rather see Tebow get his shot but I'm not that partial to him I just want to win some SB's!
I think the only way Tebow gets where he needs to go is playing through his troubles and the fanbase being patient with him.
I however don't see this being a likely thing to happen because if 2012 starts and Tebow isn't a worldbreaker the fanbase will start chanting for whoever the next guy the fanbase deems "the next Elway" and they always do anoint someone that way even though there is nothing indicating it will be the case Adam Webber, Ingle Martin (may he live forever) Jay Cutler (prior to him actually starting) Bradlee Van Pelt, Jarious Jackson, ect..... The fanbase always has some no name they latch onto and anoint and If Tebow struggles they'll get vocal.
I think it's entirely possible that given time to develop Tim can be a decent QB, I just don't see the fickle fanbase giving him that time without an uproar screaming for his head.
He's going to have to keep doing what he's been doing, and deliver results ahead of schedule.
If Tebow can improve his deficient areas as well as John did, it will be fun to watch. Tebow is certainly very lucky to have gotten to a team where the man in charge has learned a lot of the lessons you need to learn to succeed in the NFL.
John carried this team on his back for a lot of years, IF and thats a big IF Tebow can complete his game, he will have a much better team around him to start with. We all watched what happened when John got a power running game, Tebow's style is a power running game.
people get their panties in a wad when you compare tim to john....there are plenty of similarities....including their early stats
but more importantly the ability to come back...that never say its over attitude...that heart and leadership...and the athletisism
its not wrong to say they are similer....elway was more polished, his mechanics were more refined than tebows....he was a drop back passer with an arm and wheels....tebow comes in lacking that refined mechanics from not playing in a prostyle offense and nobody ever cared to change that
remember johns father jack was a head coach, both in high school and college....and he more than likely installed those mechanics in elway from a young boy on....something tebow never had...even in college they didnt give a rats butt about mechanics because...tebow won them games
someone with tebows athletisism surely can be taught the physical mechanics of being a qb...he may be behind the curve compared to elway at this time in their careers...but again elway was the son of a college head coach and was given that tutiledge from his early years on
sigpic
when do native Americans become human and not mascots
Great vid. I'm at about the 10:43 mark and Elway was 1 for 6/7 at that point and just threw an extremely ugly duck to Johnson for a huge first down (making him 2 for 7/8 at that point). (Tthe 6/7 and 7/8 denote that I lost count and don't have the patience to go back and try again.)
Anyways, it was an ugly drive but Elway came through in the clutch.
You are comparing a guy that is a top 5 QB of all time......to a guy who wad wanted by less than 4 team's.
Whatever works I guess.
Some people will see what they want to see, no matter how ridiculous it is.
HEY GUISE MATT MOORE REALLY REMINDS ME OF DAN MARINO!!!11
You know it's ridiculous when people get bent out of shape like this. He's not saying that he is as good as elway or even that he can be he's just pointing out that elway played like crap his first season and to give Tebow a chance to improve.....No one in this thread is saying OMG TEBOZ GONNA BE TEH NEXT ELWAYZ!!!!!OMGZ OMGZ
Give the kid a little time to develop.......that's all that's being said here.....
