There is no simularities. There is nothing. That was a criminal act. He ended a guys career but not as part of the game like you seem to think. He ended a guys career because he broke his neck doing something that had no part of the game.

sorry. I find that silly and naive. There is no place for that anywhere imo, not just sports, and I could never justify defending anyone who did something like that, to anyone, anywhere.

They were rookies the same year in the 1986 finals and they always respected but HATED each other.

A lot of people forget that this was Vern's 300th win. After the whistle blew, Patty slid the puck to the corner near Vernon and waved.

I'll admit it was a good one. My favorite was McCarty destroying Lemieux. Like I said earlier we got our revenge for Draper's jaw. Lemieux deserved every sent on that receipt!

I'm a huge Wings fan, and even I won't defend what Bertuzzi did on the ice, and I was a fan of Bob Probert, even during his cocaine years.

To me, Bertuzzi should have gotten the same treatment that Marty McSorley got after attacking Donald Brashear with his stick. He was arrested, tried in court, and was found guilty and never played again.

I'm surprised that Ken Holland would want the sigma of the Bertuzzi attack associated with the Red Wings.

I remeber an interview with Probert where the person asked Probie which was his best fight ever. Probert said that the best fight he ever had wasn't even on the ice. He said that it was back at the apartment where he and then roomate Joey Kocur had an argument over who's turn it was to wash the dishes.
