I'm sure it's 1st on the checklist that the front office maintains. After all, if a video game rates a player a certain way it has to be accurate, right?

I really want this kid. Remids me of an Al Wilson type player. Plus he learned from the best.

While we're waiting on an over the hill QB to decide how much money he wants to rob from us McClain will sign elsewhere, along with Bunkley!

Funny how every thread goes right to Manning... lol

We could start a thread about a kid with downs, and someone would be like, "OMG He looks like Peyton Manning... Speaking of Manning, we need to sign him ASAP"

Agree 100% we are going to lose some very good players (McClain, Bunk) waiting for this Manning thing to be done.

Maybe Bunk & McClain are waiting for us to sigh Manning, before they agree to play in DEN?

I doubt our front office struggles to multitask.

Has McClain left to visit someplace else?

Maybe their agents are waiting for us to strike out on Manning, so that we'll overpay to procur their client's services?

    Who knows.

Ray Lewis was the MLB in the Ravens Defense
    McClain was WLB
Terrell Suggs was Rush End at weakside

Yea, I am really looking forward to getting McClain and Trufant. I think both of them would be solid additions to this defense

I wonder if that ship has sailed - on all of them. I'd be surprised if they came back but maybe the Manning signing has them reconsider.

I find it odd that McClain came in and we signed up Mays and Woodyard. Definitely not a good sign.

I would guess we wanted McClain. Didn't like his asking price. Took the money we were planning on allocating to that spot and split that cash to Woody & Mays.

Plan-A was probably to sign McClain. Have Jameel, Von & Nate as our LB unit for the next 5 years. Trade DJ for a draft pick.

Plan-B was to keep DJ, ride the potential suspension, & bring back both Woody (to fill in for DJ while he's out) and Mays (special teams player, & insurance for Irving at MLB).

I agree. If the system is to have space-eating, run-stuffing DTs that keep OL off the LB, then you want LBs who make plays. Oh, and despite having that system in place for the DT role, we don't have a viable DT on the roster.

We have a pass-rushing specialist DE (ELVIS) and a pretty solid run-stopping DE (AYERS), but both appear to be one-trick rodeo clowns right now. In other words, we have a poor to below average DL.

Our secondary is made up of 30-something yr-olds & undrafted free agents.

As for our LB unit: Von Miller makes plays but has significant holes to his game right now. DJ is solid but rarely makes big plays, and is facing a suspension. And, the QB of our 4-3 (the mlb) is practically the worst of the bunch. Mays is a ST player, not a starting MLB. Irving? Well, he is the difference. He better be good or we're in trouble.

FOX & JDR are good coaches. By scheme alone we'll be a top 15 defense, but as we saw last season, on any given Sunday and offense can drop 40 on us.

    ----------

After taking just one free agent visit in the past eight days, ILB Jameel McClain now hopes to re-sign with the Ravens.

McClain made one trip to Denver, but left without a contract and is no longer on the Broncos' radar after they re-signed Joe Mays. "I'm staying patient," said McClain, 26. "I'm waiting for the perfect move at the perfect time."
