Am being told Peyton will make $18 million in 2012. There is an injury waiver based on physical in 2013. More to come.

Peyton passing his March 2013 physical activates guaranteed salaries of $20M in both 2013 and 2014, although with a waiver on his neck.

Initial reaction to Peyton deal: could be 1 yr, $18M deal. He could have leveraged more guarantee, less risk and did not. Impressive.

Did LeBron win the the NBA title after his first year with the Heat? No. And he was surrounded by more talent than Manning will be. A Super Bowl in the first season should not be expected. From year 2 and on, definitely.
