Would just like to point out that based on some of our starters predictions we have some fairly bold bullpen predictions for this team.

For instance my predictions would mean the Pen has to go 28-24. It's a little bold for this team however if they want to get back to contending for playoffs and even a playoff run they will have to be capable of pulling that off.

I think a lot of it comes down to can the starting rotation eat up innings and limit bullpen innings but also Betancourt and Brothers as others have mentioned. The losses on the bullpen can pile up if these guys don't provide a solid 1-2 punch in the 8th and 9th innings. Regardless of who the closer is.

Hernandez and EYJ will be traded because of the emergence of Rosario.

Betancourt will be traded if the Rox struggle.

Moyer will get DFA'd before DLR gets back

Well who is in the rotation doesn't really have much to do with it. Based on your current rotation that would leave your pen with a 36-24 record versus mine with a 28-24 record.

However I also didn't take into consideration that a team never makes it through a season with 5 starters. So I get your point that Moyer as a starter could have 5-6 wins and then a replacement have 10-15.

So maybe the starters end up being 6-7 people with about 7-10 more wins. That would actually only require the pen to win 26 for you and 18 for me.

I'm getting a little carried away with it but the main point was I tend to question the Rockies pen until they prove otherwise.

I'm optomistic about the team as a whole. Just not every aspect till I see them in the regular season.

Just hoping the Starters win a few more games than any of us credited them with. And leave less up to the pen.

As far as Moyer goes though I haven't been able to see any pre season games like I'm sure some of you have. So I have nothing really to base my opinion on of him making the long term rotation.

I also just don't know as much about Guthrie or Pomeranz as some of you appear to. I've just heard Moyer had a pretty decent spring training and I think it would be a great story if a 49 had a big impact on this team in a playoff year.

If it's not meant to be I have no problem if the younger guys beat him out. Whatever is best for the team.
