2012 BRONCOMANIAC GM - NFL DRAFT PICK RULES:
READ THIS POST. DO NOT JUST SKIM IT. KNOW EVERYTHING IN HERE.
MOST OF YOUR QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED, I PROMISE.
All trades must be completed and submitted to me by 6pm EST on April 7th. That will hopefully allow enough time for me to send them off for council vote and post the accepted trades.
OK folks here are the draft rules we used last year with success. Use this thread to discuss rules and any thoughts or comments once the draft begins and picks are made. Again, please read this whole post. I know y'all don't like reading, but do it anyways.
******Draft Will begin Monday April 9th, 2012 at 9am EST.***********
TRADE COUNCIL MEMBERS: elevation INC (commish); berlownacyo7s; Ringo56; JakeNbake; Snarfalicious; MHS.
1. New Draft Time:
Begin: 9am EST.
End: 1, 2, or 3am EST (varies on number of picks in the day)
In case anyone needs help with the time zones (sorry, US only):
9am EST(Eastern) = 8am CST(Central) = 7am MST(Mountain) = 6am PST(Pacific) = 5am AST(Alaska) = 4am HST(Hawaii)
2. For the entirety of the draft, each team will be allotted 1 hour for their picks. That makes 16 "Official" picks per day. However, since we added compensatory picks we had to adjust the scheduling. Some days will have 17 picks, and one day even has 18.
3. Each GM must PM all council members their Draft Board once the draft begins and their team is slotted to pick on that day only, 10 picks deep. Within the same PM, the GM must also state SLOTTED or UNSLOTTED too. EXCEPTION: If you are rock solid, 100% certain that you will be able to make your pick before your slot is over then you don't have to send us your big board. But only if you're absolutely positive there's not even a small chance you won't be able to.
4. ONLY the GM's who have picks slotted for the current day will send in their boards to all council members.
5. SLOTTED PICKS. What this means is if you choose SLOTTED with your draft board, a Council Member will wait until your teams SLOTTED time before they announce your pick.
This option allows the GM to make his own pick at his designated time slot if he so chooses. If he fails to make the pick by xx:59, then the Council Member will announce the first available pick on draft board in the Selection Thread. Remember this is a game across many time zones and everyone deserves the opportunity to announce their own pick.
6. UNSLOTTED PICKS. What this means is if you choose UNSLOTTED with your Draft Board, a Council Member will make the pick as soon as your Team is officially on the clock. So if IND picks as soon as their time slot begins, then WAS sent draft board with unslotted and a Council Member is on that pick will happen immediately and the next team is on the clock.
7. No one is to be skipped unless their pick has not been posted after their scheduled time has past. In that case a Council Member will put a placeholder for them.
8. Anyone who fails to make their pick and the Council was not sent a Draft Board, that team must wait until the end of the day's picks to make their own pick. If they are not present at the end of the round a poll as to whom they should pick will be taken by GM's currently online at that time.
9. GM's can make their pick whenever their team is on the clock, within the OFFICIAL time (9am-2am) or during dead time. Once the OFFICIAL TIME has ended, TIME and TEAM placements will be adjusted accordingly for the next day of picks.
10. GM's can post their picks anytime as long as the previous team has done so.
For example:
9am IND
10am WAS
11am MIN
12pm CLE
1pm TB
2pm STL
IND makes their pick at 9am. WAS and MIN GM's are online and make their picks at 9:05 and 9:10 respectively.
Cleveland has until 12:59pm to make their pick. If they sent their big board to the Council, they will only make the pick if the GM that sent in their Board gives us permission to make the pick at SLOTTED or UNSLOTTED TIME. This allows the GM time to make their own selection at the slotted time if they do so.
Any questions belong in this thread for all to see.
THANK YOU! Have FUN WITH THIS!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S. ALL GM's MUST POST IN THIS THREAD STATING:
I (GM NAME of the TEAM) HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE RULES.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We do not want your Board until Draft starts and your team is scheduled to pick for the day.
Example of a board to send to Council:
SLOTTED
1. Andrew Luck
2. Robert Griffin III
3. Matt Kalil
4. Trent Richardson
5. Morris Claiborne
6. Justin Blackmon
7. Melvin Ingram
8. Ryan Tannehill
9. Luke Kuechly
10. Riley Reiff
Tells the council that you plan on making your pick but if you can't, this is the order in which you want the council to choose but wait until last possible minute. GM's can make their pick regardless of slotted/unslotted if they are online and on the clock.
UNSLOTTED
1. Andrew Luck
2. Robert Griffin III
3. Matt Kalil
4. Trent Richardson
5. Morris Claiborne
6. Justin Blackmon
7. Melvin Ingram
8. Ryan Tannehill
9. Luke Kuechly
10. Riley Reiff
Tells the council that you don't plan on making your pick and give the council permission to immediately choose for you, this is the order in which you want the council to choose. GM's can make their pick regardless of slotted/unslotted if they are online and on the clock.

NOTES:
1 - There are two picks which have been forfeited. #59 by the Saints in Bounty-Gate, and # 79 by the Raiders by taking Terrelle Pryor in the supplemental draft. These picks still exist. They did not disappear. They are still reflected in the official draft order. However, they will just be skipped over during our mock draft. So as soon as the 58th pick is announced, whatever team that has the 60th pick will be on the clock. But your pick will still be #60 overall. Please don't get confused with pick numbers. That is why I will be posting the entire draft order. If in doubt, use the number from my order and you'll be ok.
2 - Compensatory picks are making things interesting this year. There was one added to the third round. Since that is nothing too significant, we will just extend that day's workload and schedule 17 picks that day. See below for complete calendar. However, there were really too many to do this in the 4th round, so the compensatory picks after that will have their own day. The compensatory picks do not change the entire draft order. They will simply be: 3.1, or 4.1, or 4.5, or so on. The compensatory picks will take place AFTER the round the were awarded in (aka the number before the decimal). There were only 3 added after the 5th round, so I got a little creative. Instead of splitting that day up (16 / 16 + 3), I decided to do (17 / 15 + 3). That way both of the days go a little longer, but not 3 hours longer. So there will again be 17 picks and 18 picks when we schedule the 5th round.

Per request, here is the formatting you will need to use when posting your draft picks. Make your you include overall pick number, player position, player name, and school. Make it big, make it bold/colored if you want to, make it centered. I understand that a lot of you will post your picks from your phone and formatting is limited, but try to get a computer ASAP and make it look pretty.

PS - Sorry for the copyright infringement TX77. You're thread from last year was just too nice to let go to waste.
