Jack Del Rio making big impression on Broncos' defense

    http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci...roncos-defense

Were there referees here at Dove Valley for Broncos' organized team activities, the defense might get flagged for 12 men on the field.

    That 12th player?

    Defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio.

"We joke with him all the time because half the time the offense is snapping the ball and he's still on the field," linebacker Wesley Woodyard said after practice today.

Del Rio is the Broncos' seventh defensive coordinator in seven years, but as a former NFL linebacker and former head coach, he's making a big impression on defensive players, particularly the team's linebackers.
Whether you like Him or you don't like Him.....LEARN to love Him. Because He's the best thing going TODAY. Wooo! Wooo! Wooo! Wooooooooo!

I really...reallly....reallllly hope he sticks around for a few years...

I might also add, judging from his interviews, moving his family here and all... it appears that will be the case (knock on wood)

    JDR
    Allen
    Martindale
    Nolan
    Slowik
    Bates
    Coyer
    Rhodes
    Robinson

    Did I miss one?

    PS Before Robinson:
    Waters
    Phillips
    Collier

Joe Collier, the greatest DC in Denver Bronco History, coached in Denver from 1969 through 1988 under five different Head Coaches. He adapted the Oklahoma 50 Defense first used by Bud Wilkinson at OU in the fifties producing his version of the 3-4. All but a couple of the greatest Bronco LBs played for him (Gradishar, Jackson, Swenson, Ryan, Rizzo, Dennison, Mecklenburg, Fletcher, Hunley). Two of those (Dennison, Ryan) have gone on to become great coaches themselves.

I think he'll stay 2-3 years at least, maybe more, hopefully if/when he does get another HC gig, we have someone ready to replace him.

Big, big pickup, if not for Manning, it would be talked about more.
