I didn't see the game, but I read an article about what she said. I certainly hope that her comments doesn't represent the team's.

She is not a classy individual. Too bad, because she brings it on herself.

As for Penny Oleksiak, our new Canadian hero, I am so proud and impressed with her. I loved how she did it the canuck way after tying for gold. She immediately hugged her competitors on either side, and then two over to congratulate the American swimmer. She is classy, mature young (barely) 16 year old person, who could be an Olympic superstar if she chooses to compete for another 8 or 12 years. And talk about finish....from 7th to 1st with one lap to go!!

Nice to look ahead....Taylor Ruck is another 16 year who could be side by side with Penny for years to come!

USA Basketball trying to lose to Serbia right now. I hope Kevin Durant plays defense like this for Golden State next season.

She needs to learn to keep her hands to herself off the field and her mouth shut on the field.

Who cares about class? The Olympics were founded to prove dominance, plain and simple & the U.S. dominates

    True, especially the first part.

I guess I care. The US didn't dominate in women's soccer since they lost. Losses happen. At least do it with dignity and without blame-shifting.

I do not share your view. You can be great and be classy too. I boast about my country, but for the most part, we show class.

BTW....what is dominance? Medals per capita (if so, you do not dominate in Olympic sports)?

Sorry to go that route. I am extremely proud of how we are doing. Other countries are doing amazing as well, given their population/financial support.

I still believe that we should honour the spirit of the games.

Good for Ashton Eaton, the American decathlon star, who was shown wearing a Canadian hat. Why wouldn't he? His wife is Brianne Theisen-Eaton, a Canadian Olympian. Of course he has been criticized by some, but hey, there's always that crowd.

I have a very strong hunch that Brianne will be wearing American when Ashton does his thing. It's all good!

ANDRE DE GRASSE!!! What a race! Bolt makes it look easy. But nice to see the Canadian who only started running 4 years ago medal! 2020 is going to be awesome.

Bolt was amazing as usual! It did not appear like any runner could catch and pass the way he did. But he does! Andre has a real chance to be the future fastest in the world. He too is a finisher, and very nearly got the silver.

I watched some synchronized swimming today and all I could think was, 'how is this a sport'?

I still have sour grapes over the removal of women's fastpitch softball.

I believe it and baseball are back in 2020. Although without major league players participating they're not sure how long baseball will be back for.

Well thank you for posting that! I am thrilled. I just went and checked and it is back.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) today agreed to add baseball/softball, karate, skateboard, sports climbing and surfing to the sports programme for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
