Sorry for the late posting, we are in the middle of moving and I am trying to get my man cave set up There is a lot of Bronco Swag to organize and dig through.
So how is our team doing, well they love to keep it interesting don't we? Coming off our Superbowl 50 win we had tremendous QB upheaval. Peyton retired, Brock chased the money, Sanchez was here until he wasn't. We draft Paxton Lynch and Siemian wins the job. How do we respond to that... we go 4-0 Now we and have the task of trying to make it 5-0. Trevors out Paxton gets the starting nod. Leaving the Rams with the only first QB picked in the first round to not have a start.
Paxton looked ok and comfortable vs Tampa, leading us to 2 FG and a TD plus 170 yards in just over a half of game. He didn't takes the sacks that derailed Trevor. Denver though is not a QB driven team, Luckily we are a defensive focused team. Kubes wants to run use some play action and control the tempo of the game and let the D make plays. I am sure he will call an offensive game play to make it easier for Paxton to be comfortable. My concern is the last two games the run game has been stuffed and we have been forced to rely on the passing game. Hopefully Paxton is progressing into more of a pocket qb who will try to see all his reads before the urge to run takes over.
The D will have a big test against the high flying, high scoring 3-1 Falcons. The D will need to live up to the No Fly Zone nick name, because they will be tested. Kyle Shanahan has done a great job this year calling the offense and adapting as needed. He knows Kubes well so this will be a nice chess match.
So how do we do in Game # 5 of a season. Well the last decade we posts a 6-4 record. Of the six wins 3 were at home, 3 on the road. Of the 4 losses 2 were at home and two on the road. The last three years we won game # 5 which we played on the road all 3 times.
Atlanta got the better of Denver last time in game 2 of 2012 when Peyton had just started with us. We beat them in 2008. We lost to them in 2004. We did bet them though in Superbowl 33 , so we always have that bragging right.
Again as a reminder, please be mindful of what you post. So far it has not been too bad. Lets avoid starting another QB war here and try to enjoy the game. We have managed so far to avoid the board division of recent seasons. Let's continue the streak and help the mods. Please follow the COC and thank you for helping making this board great. As always looking forward to a great season. GO BRONCOS!!!
