Lynch had 2 good chances to grab the starting role last year but after both games people were begging Siemian to come back. You can talk about draft status, physical tools, and all that junk, but none of means anything when he gets his chance to play and he overthrows and underthrows receivers by 10+ yards on nearly every pass.

Rarely do backup QBs get the opportunity Lynch got this year, that's what's frustrating is he should've been able to easily out perform Siemian and we wouldn't even be having this convo right now.

It just seems crazy to hand a guy a job because you hope someday he will be better than what you have.
It feels like Tebow all over again, when people wanted Tebow to start..

If Lynch goes into training camp and plays well in preseason I will have no issue with him being the starter, but every since we drafted him everybody want to give him the starting job automatically.

4000/30 means we have an elite QB. Romo is about your only hope for that dream the next couple of years.
Our QBs combined for 3900 yards and 20 TDs, not too far from the numbers you mentioned.

The problem with the offense was the horrendous running game and poor o-line.

From weeks 8-16, the Broncos averaged just 70 yards a game on the ground, easily the lowest average in the NFL, they went 3-5 during that stretch, 2 of the 3 wins they rushed for over 100 yards, during the 5 losses they averaged just 59 yards a game.

They were running an offense based heavily on the run, with lots of under center and play action. When you can't run the ball with that offense it's going to be a disaster. Adding further to the problems, opposing defenses easily stopped the run with just 4 man fronts while dropping everybody else into coverage.

It's kinda amazing the QBs were able to still throw for almost 4K yards considering everything. Pretty much every game felt like the Super Bowl against the Seahawks.

It's surprising there is so much discussion around the QBs when it's obvious even to casual fans what the problem was.

I was looking, couldn't find recent ones, but keep in mind notable Wonderlic scores (for QBs) out of 50: Elway 29, Peyton Manning 28, Dan Marino 16, Jim Kelly 15, Donovan McNabb 14.

Meanwhile Fitzpatrick and Greg McElroy both scored 48, Jason Maas (former CFL QB turned coach) scored a 43, Blaine Gabbert and Drew Henson both scored 42.

So it appears scoring well on the Wonderlic has little to do with actual on the field success.

The only thing that matters is...
what doe s JOHN ELWAY want?
    -
    I submit...
Elway did not blow up the coaching staff that won a superbowl
because he loves the 7th rd pick that was doing"ok".
    -
Elway wanted Kubiak to let go of calling the plays...
    Kubiak refused.
Elway wanted to see Paxton play in the meaningless Raider game
    Kubiak refused.
End of season... Elway wanted Kubiak to let go of his offense coach buddies...
    Kubiak refused.
    -
Elway blew up the coaching staff, allowed Wade to walk...
brought in Joseph, McCoy, Musgrave all with a PURPOSE in mind.
    -
OK just aint good enough for the Broncos.
    -
    Just like Meck was saying...
Elway wants to find out if Paxton is "the guy".. "his guy"....
and he don't want to waste any more time of the rookies contract not knowing.

It is really that plain and simple.

WE are powerless. This ball is in ELWAY's court...

Well said. It was almost like Kubiak was trying to give himself the chance to play as Siemian. He is kind of a Kubiak talented QB. Time will only tell if Lynch has Elway like skills or not.

Credible link or it didn't happen. By credible link, I don't mean a bunch of blabbermouths in tinfoil hats you listen to on the radio.

Elway did not blow up the staff. Kubiak retired for health reasons. Elway hired a new coach who has put together a new staff. All of that is documentable public knowledge. All else is conspiracy theory.

People write stuff off like this as "conspiracy" but its pretty obvious and it was obvious these changes were coming rather or not kubiak "retired". No way he gets to run a failed offense for a third season in a row. I questioned how much effort they put into lynch development when kubiak held lynch out of the raiders game. We would have ended up turning into the mediocre Texans teams kubiak coached.

But in this case, what do fans want? This isn't as simple as fans wanting a coach or GM fired because they've wrecked the team. In this case it's between two QBs, and you've got about 25% who want Siemian, 25% who want Lynch, 25% who want anyone else and 25% who don't know what they want.

I do agree, when it's something like I mentioned, as an example, the reason Jeff Fisher was finally fired was because the fans quit showing up to Rams games this year, that's a pretty big deal in a team's first year in a new city.

But for players and stuff, the fans have no control, and that's the way it should be, we don't know all of the information. I'll often see things like player X is always in the backfield because no one can block him. Or Player Y is always open, but the QB never throws him the ball. So fans will be upset about that. What we don't know is that player X was to drop into a zone there and screwed up and left his player wide open, but got lucky. Or that player Y is always open but never gets the ball because he doesn't know the playbook and often runs the wrong routes, so the QB can never find him in the location he's supposed to be in.
