I hear the arguments for and against Stephenson (and others). The signing sounds reasonable as the team has an out if needed but VJ's quote, "better coaching will help," has me a little relieved.
With all due respect to Kubes, last year guys were left on islands on more than a few occasions and questions about performance often ended with coach-speak answers of one form or another of "we just have to execute better."
VJ seems to throw that out the window or at least bring the coaches / coaching in as part of the problem - not content to lay all the blame at the feet of the players. That's honestly refreshing to hear and reason enough to adopt more of a wait-and-see outlook where some players are concerned.
This could turn out to be more coach-speak, but for now, at least for me, VJ deserves a little wiggle room.
