    Broncos sign DE/OLB Kasim Edebali

The Denver Broncos and free-agent defender Kasim Edebali have agreed to terms on a contract, 9News' Mike Klis reports.

Financial terms are not yet known.

Edebali, 27, is a defensive end-outside linebacker hybrid who has 54 career tackles and eight sacks. He was originally signed in 2014 by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent.

A rotational player, Edebali's best NFL season came in 2015, when he notched five takedowns.

Edebali is the latest signing for Denver as they rebuild their barren defensive line. The team landed nose tackle Domata Peko and end Zach Kerr over the weekend, giving them each two-year deals.

Depth signing for camp. The upside is he ends up like Watson last year and makes the team as a reserve player and special teams player. The downside he doesn't make the 53. Seems like a good move, hopefully it works out.

That gives Denver six or seven OLBs. They need at least eight for TC. Maybe they'll re-sign Dekoda Watson, too.

Dekoda is listed on the roster and it seems to be updated.

Barren? ... is often used to describe an area of land that lacks any signs of life. I think the position he is likely competing for is far from "barren". Even our interior DL is not "Barren".
Maybe I'm wrong but Kasim isn't likely to be competing against Wolfe, Crick, Gotsis, Bobby Richardson, Iosia, Raciti. As the article suggested.
He might be competing at the OLB position against Shaq Barrett, V. Dora, Quentin Gause, Dekoda Watson, Kevin Snyder or maybe Shane Ray(probably not Ray realistically). Kasim would make 8 DE/OLBs.

At 6-3 248 he is competing at OLB I'm pretty sure.
Who is this guy that wrote the article?

Dekoda is not listed with a contract on Over The Cap though

Low risk high upside. I like these kinds of signings at this stage. People are complain about them but the same people who want Vance Walker back fail to realize he was one of these signings

Dekoda Watson is an UFA at the moment, I think.

This guy somewhat reminds me of Elvis Dumervil, just that defensive end/linebacker hybrid type player and somewhat short can get underneath the shoulder pads of opposing offensive line men. Should be pretty exciting!

I'm not familiar enough with his play to say. The highlight videos I saw of him make him look like OLB depth. I hope they do try guys like him and Dora at ILB in Training Camp though.

I wonder what sort of Contract Dumervil is looking for.

I wonder if he's hanging out at Kinko's waiting for teams to fax offers?
