Loved Skov coming out of college. Had at least a couple knee injuries that i know of.

Any clue why he never caught on in SF?

Skov ran a 5.09 at 245 pounds. No surprise.

The player that caught my attention is NT Mike Purcell, who started 8 games for the 49ers. Not a very good player, but the current situation at NT is abysmal. He's from Colorado, so the Broncos might have a lot of info about him. Besides, we don't have a NT that can do this:

Carl Bradford was a sack machine coming out of Arizona State. Not sure what happened to him in San Francisco but we could use another edge rusher to compete for the forth position (Miller, Ray, Barrett, ?????)

He was a fourth round pick by Green Bay in 2014 but was inactive his rookie season. He was cut by the Packers and re-signed to their PS in 2015. He was on their PS again in 2016 and was released at the end of the year.

The Niners claimed him , tendered him in February and released him yesterday. IDK what happened in with him in San Francisco either, but he didn't play any football.

I agree, but actually, Elvis Dumervil has "Elvis Dumervil" written all over him, and he is still a Free Agent having been cut a month ago because of salary issues. Of course, there me be some question as to how much he has left in the tank.

I've wondered about this too and I can't help but come to the conclusion that we need to get Shane Ray on the field in a starting tole and if Elvis Dumervil did come back here he might be detrimental to Shane Ray's progress as that starter, so I guess that's the only reason I can come up with us to why Elvis is not back in the building.

Or perhaps he just doesn't have anything left in the tank.

These guys were cut by the 9ers. To put that a different way, not even the talentless 9ers roster could find a good spot for these guys

Skov was highly regarded going into his Junior year, but two years later was not a draftable player. He is not very good. He is not very athletic. If the Niners couldn't get him into camp, I doubt we can.

*32 teams passed on Chris Harris, CJ Anderson and Rod Smith
*Brandon Marshall was on a then porous Jags practice squad
Case in point sometimes a change is a good thing

The injuries accumulated for Skov. Multiple knee injuries limited him at Stanford. Assume it only got worse in the NFL.

But at Stanford he was fun to watch. Not the fastest guy but great effort at run stopping and a middle blitz playmaker. Not a coverage ILB.

Apparently I'm a sucker for the under athletic effort ILB. Boulware from Clemson intrigued me this year.

Purcell was claimed by the Rams.
