But we would still have to give something up though. If we are getting a player worth 7.4 million this season, we would have to give up alot. IMO.

Any ideas who you think they bring in? Who they dangle as trade bait?

No. You trade the trade exception if that makes sense. We couldnt send the 7.4 mill with a player to get another player back. You trade the trade exception for a player straight up. Seems weird I know. But its for teams duping cap.

Ive heard Stephen Jackson is in the mix for Denver. But IMO that would be a very bad move. I see pretty much everyone outside of Nene Billups JR and Melo as tradable. I doubt we could move Birdman cause his contract out weighs his worth. But what ever move we make im sure it would be for a big, Nene has been screaming for some low post help for awhile. Ive heard Ilgauskas from Cleveland is an option as well.

S-Jax is gamble Denver likely won’t make

Share Stephen Jackson is a spectacular basketball player with a spectacularly explosive personality – one I don’t think will end up in powder blue. Crazier things have happened. But the Nuggets have worked especially hard at putting together a group of guys who have as much character as talent. Just look at the newcomers – Arron Afflalo, Ty Lawson and Joey Graham and Malik Allen. Each guy is a great guy, as well as a guy who can help make this team better (the Nuggets feel).

As for the Warriors’ Jackson, even if Denver wanted him, he would be difficult to acquire. The trade exception that expires on Nov. 3 is now at $7.4 million, which is less than Jackson’s $7.6 contract, so Denver couldn’t use the exception to get Jackson, even if they yearned for him (you cannot bundle the exception and a player). Thus, the Nuggets would have to trade player(s) to Golden State to match Jackson’s salary – who would they trade? (Also, after this season, Jackson will make roughly $27 million in the next three seasons. That’s a lot of cash for a guy who turns 32 this season).

Now, Denver has another trade exception from the Chucky Atkins deal worth $3.3 million, and that expires Jan. 7. Look for this exception to be used. By that point in the season, teams are much more familiar with their personnel, as well as where the team is headed. A player around $3 million (or less) might be expendable, and a team like Denver, which will likely be in the playoff hunt, could take advantage of this boost, without losing a player from its current roster. That’s the drawback of the $7.4 million exception that expires during the beginning of the season – teams are too optimistic to drop a guy of that price range, because there is still hope — and teams want to show fans a commitment to winning.

Nuggets gave Renaldo Balkman a 3 year contract extension as well as pucked up Aaron Afflalo's option Saturday.

Nuggets have probably played the most complete game thus far through 3 quarters. Birdman playing like the money we gave him, and Melo isnt having to be perfect. Were up 12 going into the 4th.

If he was playing for the Lakers or Celtics, ESPN's heads would be exploding right now. Rondo made a shot from behind the hoop last night, and they responded with a Larry Bird flash back segment.

As will JR. Im not afraid of the Lakers with Ron Artest. I was more afraid of them with Ariza.

I couldnt agree more... Anyone who actually knows what their talking about when it comes to basketball realized that Ariza was the perfect fit for the Lakers...

Ron Artest was a desperation pick up that made no sense what so ever.
