I have plenty of faith.

If that was our first loss...to a team that desperate for a win? Not to mention they are one of the better teams in the league and we were on the road....?

I can accept that. Mark Schlereth was telling a funny story about the Broncos going to play at Candlestick, and it was the game they were retiring Montana's jersey. He said the place was stacked and electric. He went on to say, he looked at a teammate in the tunnel on the way out for introductions and said "I do believe we're about get our asses kicked."

Losses on the road happen. The game was MUCH closer than the score indicated. Here's to opening a can on Smellsburgh on MNF!!

Broncos losing is like defying physics. It just doesn't happen.

Very true. I can't wait to see the team play on Monday. My only regrets is that Monday is six days away.

I thought about that after I posted it! I was trying to illustrate how a better performance would have felt different.

That being said, Orton for 350 and three TD's and Buck and Moreon for 250+ anyone?

Orton's going to be the first quarterback to ever get 2000 yards in one game.

Fargo did you see my other thread about our 1997 season?

allow me to repeat:

1997. 12-4 (second in the division), Wild Card spot. 6-0 before the bye week. Lost to the Raiders (ick) after bye to go 6-1.

defeated the reigning champions in Super Bowl XXXII.

the difference this season? We actually win the division

well believe it or not Ive stayed away from the negitive stuff (i know right?). Honestly I think we are fine and with a couple of tweaks (ZB will help our great RBs out tremendously) and at least taking the occasional downfield shot to keep good Ds like the Ravens and Pit honest, we would be un freaking stoppable! but for gawd sakes does anyone really think the sky is falling here? we are a darn good team and a couple small tweaks away from being absolutely dominant! one loss to a hungry and darn good team doesn't change that.

I think the loss was a good thing, because now we can focus on just beating the opponent and not going undefeated. Im a realist and realize that we were not going to go 16-0. Winning brings on much more pressure and can mean absolutly nothing if you dont win the bowl (ie. Pats)

We can hammer the Steelers if we play like I know we can play. "Dink and Dunk" and "were too predictable" are all things MCD and our team realize can be issues and if we are firing on all cylinders then we cannot be stopped. Its any given Sunday and if we are playing well it will be our sunday!!

It is either feast or famine, it sure seems. When we were on a roll and winning, many were already cashing in the ticket to the play-off's and totally dismissing SD as being done. How many posts were borderline cocky and really way too optimistic?? I am sorry but, I have to say it.. SB for this season is not very realistic... New Orleans and The Colts have looked unstoppable and Denver is a team in transition. Am I saying the SB is impossible... no, but the Broncos will only get better and I truly believe the SB seasons are in our near future... not this year.

On the other hand now that we have had one loss.. yes, just one loss.. there seems to be the other side to it. Now, it is tons of complaining and picking apart our weaknesses and jumping off the bandwagon.

I happen to think the people who were really cocky and overly confident are different than the complainers who come in after a tough loss. I think many posters are silent when things are going well but, show up to complain and many others are very vocal when we are winning but, disappear after a bad loss.

I was disappointed in the loss Sunday.. truth be told I had a bad feeling and predicted that we would lose that game. I also predicted we would lose to Pittsburgh but, I refuse to even think that way now because I do not think we can afford to have a string of losses in a row. I am staying optimistic and still on the bandwagon.

I am still thrilled we are having the season we are having... it has surpassed my expectations and even if they only win a few more games.. well, they have done far better than almost everyone predicted.

I expect nothing but a win against Pissburgh. There is just something about that team I can't stand. Probably it's Ben ROFLberger that just sickens me. Here's to going 7-1 on Monday Night!

As Jon Gruden said during our previous MNF outing against San Diego: "Denver finishes football games!" Let's finish it again!

You've become a fun guy to be around. Glad to have you around, and thrilled to see your optomism even after a loss!

I agree with that too. Even if we lost once, this is the first opportunity we've really been able to look at our weaknesses. Buiding up from there will make us much better in the long run. I'm interested to see what McDaniels does with our special teams and offense before Monday.

There were a few Ravens fans that really have earned a ton of respect from me. Sure, they saw a pretty cocky attitude from the Denver fans, but they held up well and stayed classy (excluding one).

But I agree. The season we're having now only reflects our competence despite the new system we're using. We were always far from being a 5-11 team, and I still believe we're developing. If we lose here and there, so be it. I'm happy with everything McDaniels has done for us. I waited the offseason to see us succeed, and I'll wait till Monday to see us rebound again. Glad to see so many of us sharing my optomism!

The nation hates Pittsburgh. The city is as groggy as Cleveland, but only a lot more arrogant. I have a feeling that there are a lot of Ravens, Browns, and Bengals fans who are begging for a win too. We have a lot to win for, and I only expect the best from our players going into Monday.

Let's finish it again!

There are a lot of good posters here!
I've been laying low because I just haven't been able to catch most of the games. They are not available in my area. I don't feel qualified to comment on anything without having seen the games... at least twice.

I come here to read what you all have to comment about the game, our guys, coaching, etc. I've been reading a lot of interesting posts after this loss. Some are a little unreasonable, however, most are great and inciteful... until the threads turns into pissing matches.

I'll tell you what I don't prefer reading... Rah Rah Broncos threads. I feel the sentiment. I love my team, but it doesn't make for very interesting reading. Even worse are the I Hate Orton threads. They are just not fun. At the very top of my list are the fanhood threads. Please...

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the after game comments, observations and general football discussions with good posters like you guys. Smashies threads come to mind... They are great!

I think you all are doing a great job of keeping a good balance of posters on board. Keep it up & CPs for this thread!

Tough loss, the Ravens wanted it more then Denver did. We're 6-1 and everyone is going crazy. The Steelers will be tough, i have no idea what will happen. I'm ready for the MNF game, cant wait. It's not like SD's schedule gets any easier, they play at NYG, vs Philly, then at Denver.

Sure, it's always good to stir controversy. The boards would be drab if we all agreed. That being said, a little pep for next week is fun to read too! I watch the game to have fun though, and I'll find a way to do so no matter the circumstances.

I'm not blasting anybody for their faith in the team, I'm simply trying to bring out our colors.

Steelers will be tough, but I'm feeling a rebound this week. I'm very excited to see how our team responds this Monday. The division is still close, but we're the kind of team that's going to fall apart so easily.
