This was bound to happen and its basically like a nuke went off on these boards its common after a lost. We'll rebound vs the steelers and show them we're not a fluke.

or this , or maybe a little of this... ; and are you stating that this would be inappropriate, if I didn't have any content attached? Are you also suggesting that if I said you aren't a real fan unless you continually drop a few more of these , along with every miniscule anecdote mentioned?Acpell, you are going to put the smilies out of business, and you are doing something far worse my dear............. MAKING ME COME UP WITH FACTS!!!!!!!!! I can live with the other stuff, but the part about "facts" is totally unfair, and of all people you know it is not my style to make sense!!!!! (heh, get your butt back on this board......miss your "style"!) |

My point really was that there are A TON of good posters here. Sometimes what one is reading is perceived by their mood, patience, etc. Fargo is stating that it seems for most that the sky is falling. However, having read a lot of posts here after the loss, I just don't see it. I see a lot of balance... enough to entertain every style of poster/reader. I'm not seeing as many "sky is falling" posts. Far from it, in fact. I think there is a whole lot of optimism on this board. But all in all, there is a good balance of folks here. That was my point. I need more practice posting. I'm a bit rusty. ![]() |

I tend to stay positive on things, hopefully not just on the team. It's the route I take, and like an investment portfolio, it just works for me. But if you read my first response to Fargo, I believe I mentioned that this board was fairly reasonable after our loss, compared to the way it used to be, especially when I joined up. I mean, there were good, long time posters who ripped into me then!!!! ![]() Anyway, many of us can take a good punch so to speak, and we hang around for the right reasons.......and to your point, the board has better balance of late. I will add however, that a 6 game winning streak does a lot to build a positive momentum. SO......lets get on another roll! Based on as much fact as I can muster (gee that's hard ), I believe we have the right defence to take the Steelers, at home. We will harrass Ben all night. And I also believe that Josh hasn't slept much creating a better offensive gameplan against a very good Steelers' D, one that used to be great. I am trying to be very objective, and it helps that I have been a semi-Steelers fan since Ben, Troy and Hines joined them. And to be honest A, there is a factor that goes beyond the usual fact thing, I'll admit.........I have a ton of confidence in our team. |

Most importantly to me I have faith the Broncos are on the road back to a Super Bowl Championship. Realistically it probably will not happen this year. These things take time. I do think we make the playoffs this year. We probably host a game and have a good shot of winning one playoff game. There will be ups and downs but I see the future being bright for us. __________________

The sky is not falling and our players are mostly healthy... (knocking on wood). There's a lot to be proud of and thankful for. Although, what's up with our punter? I feel sorry for my Raider's friends. I've caught one of them cheering for the Broncos and rubbed it in a little. **As a side note, my favorite thread currently is the neckbeard poll! It's hilarious! |

The Raiders are pathetic, yes. But I do have some sympathy for fellow fans of our division rivals... I am a division gal, even though I loathe our rivals. I like it better when they are competing, not pathetic. Aww... the good ole days. If our team was pathetic (like that would ever happen), you wouldn't quit on them either... That's why I sympathize. Although, I do get a few jabs in and always hold my head up high about our team, no matter our w/l record. Nobody can be as pathetic an organization as the Raiders have turned out to be this decade. I love watching the Raiders draft every year! It's great for off season comedy. Maybe they'll draft a kicker in the first round or something stupid like that. ![]() |

As for the Raiders, I hope Mr Davis lives forever........ But one thing for sure, if this was just a kicking/punting game, the Raiders would be amazing!!!! Maybe they should take up soccer, albeit in a rowdy league somewhere...... But you are so very right, the more competitive the division, the more excitement. That's why it's good to have a fairly tough schedule. Makes you play hard every down. And the wins are that much more enjoyable. And as long as we are considered a tough part of someone's schedule, all the more fun!!!! BTW.......as for that other thread about who would be welcome to watch a game with......you'd be there...... |

I was also surprised that the talk on these boards following the game were not too bad. I am personally one who eases my way back in here after a loss. I am an optimist who gets mad at the pessimistic talk. In all honesty I was prepared for the loss. The result of every game sets my tone for the week, Broncos can go down 3 nothing and I will have a glare on my face and no one in the room should talk to me. We were down the entire game this week, and I was not even mad about it, as I knew this would be a 1 week drought. The Ravens @ home is probably a top 3 game I would not want to go play. I thought we could still have success 10 yards over the middle on them as Ward of the Steelers does every game, and I did not expect Ray to play right there all game long. This left us having to go deep and unfortunately we are unable to do so at this time? I also disliked the Oline allowing Orton to be hammered to start the game, that was the moment I knew we were in trouble. Leading up to the game Orton talked about having to play there as a rookie with the Bears, and not having any fond memories of that game. Flashback.
We are what, 13 - 6 - 1 with the Steelers lifetime? They get to come to our house after a devastating loss, and I am sure the Steelers will pay for it. We just need to take Ben down and he will be even harder than Flacco was. This is the week we find out how good our secondary really is. To pressure Ben is easy, to stop their run is easy, to cover their receivers is not. Cheers to you for calling out all the negative feedback, and hopefully this keeps gaining momentum. Always remember the talks get better closer to the next game and that some people need to get there frustration off their chest, or it may drag them down all week. CP to you. __________________

I don't think it was that we lost because that was inevitable it was how we lost that was very disheartning. I'll reserve any doom and gloom thoughts I may have till after the steelers game. If we have a similar showing then there is major room for concern. If they come out and at least have a hard fought physical game then I will be happy regardless of the outcome.
