To be quite honest, I'm really not sure. Truth be told, he'd definitely improve our receiving corps, but there's a really strong chance a player with potential (who would be happy to play in Denver) would be cut. I already gave my predictions in the other thread if Lelie came back or didn't come back. . . but let's just say he doesn't -- you know damn well he's gone in Free Agency. There isn't a snowball's chance in Hell he re-signs here in Denver.

True, hopefully we can get some value from him in the instance he doesn't show up. I feel generally the same way as you about what would happen if he did show up. I would not want one of our guys who is trying to be cut.

Oh well, atleast you know why I added the 'not sure' option.

What could change Lelie's mind is how much the team can fine him a day for holding out, we assume six thousand a day, but according to the new CBA -- teams can fine up to 14,000 a day for hold outs. Wow, that's a lot of moolah.

i see it like this...

if we do not trade him by training camp or get any reasonable intrest, he will show up midway through

if we do find good intrest and a trade looks like it will happen sometime ( maybe even the second week of regular season or whatever) he will get wind of it, he will find out, and thus think he will get traded and will not show up at all

so if there is no trade talks that might actually happen i think he just might show up halfway thru

if he doesnt he could become another freddie mitchell and be out of the nfl. his stock would drop alot if he doesnt show.

He will because if he isnt, he loses 14000 dollars a day. Football players are payed way too much.
