I'd do my best not to fumble.

I think that every running back does, but they're also really trying to show their stuff and the linebackers are trying to show their stuff and a few fumbles through camp are bound to happen.

But it would be nice to keep that to a minimum.

I'm guessing you read too much into their posts. It is early in camp. They are often running behind second or third team O-linemen, and instituting new plays. I am sure they are all trying not to fumble, the point was only that having a couple fumbles early in training camp is not giong to be the death of a player.

I am pretty sure a few of the fumbles also happen after the back thinks the play is dead since it isn't full contact and I saw them stopping after running into a guy and then others would come from behind and poke the ball. I'm not saying this is what happened but IT COULD BE.

It doesn't matter. We all would love to see a generous back that likes to hand the other team the ball every now and then so they can limit how much we win by. It is kind of like a feel good story.

It sure does. Its one of things that kept Portis from being a starter right away. He kept coughing up the ball. Shanahan didn't let him start until developed better ball security.
