Lets get a list of all willing to help. In that list you pledge to put 5 dollars in this paypal account every time the broncos win by 14 or less. If they win by 14 or more you pay 10 dollars!

We could do further incentives w/ playoffs and superbowl wins.

First of all I want to thank the person who sent the link. I know you have amazing intentions, as do the rest of you.

But I have to play devils advocate. While I was getting my master's in social work, a radical guy challenged a group that was working on a canned food drive. He really made some people mad with his words, because their intentions were to help, but he made me think. So I thought I'd share this with you all as well.

A canned food drive is like putting a band-aid on a problem. It is not solving the problems of the poor or hungry. If we do not look at the root causes of why there is hunger in the world, then we will never be able to solve the poverty/hunger issues. I say this knowing that I as a social worker, I do similiar work. I work with homeless youth and while I put every effort into supporting them onto a better path, the system is what creates a homeless person. AND I continue to place bandaids, just as we all do when we donate canned goods. Which is still great work I NEED to add, BUT.........

Peace out!

Good point and I understand that you're not discrediting what the intention of this thread is all about. However, metaphorically speaking, if you put enough band aids on the wound no matter how large, it will eventually stop the bleeding, right?

Very good point Reidman. I would say that both approaches go hand in hand. As with any problem a short term and long term solution is required.

25TH ANNUAL BRONCOS WIVES DRIVE… DRIVE TO END HUNGER AND HOMELESSNESS
Sunday, October 29, 2006
Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts

Wives Drive Chair: Peggy Shanahan
Pam Krotchko, Denver Broncos Charities (720-258-3846)

For 25 years, Broncos fans have generously contributed to the Broncos Wives Drive. Wives of Broncos coaches, players and staff members will be collecting cash donations at all of the gates entering INVESCO Field at Mile High prior to the October 29th game against the Indianapolis Colts. The cash donations are given to Denver Broncos Charities and distributed in the form of grants to Denver area non-profit organizations that help the hungry and homeless. Click here to listen how you can help!

Community Drive
Non-perishable food items will be collected throughout the month of October at participating Denver Metro Area US Bank, King Soopers and Rocky Mountain Ford locations.

In conjunction with two Community Drive sponsors, the Broncos Wives will host a Kickoff Drive event on Saturday, October 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the King Soopers/US Bank location at Arapahoe Crossing – corner of Arapahoe Road and Parker Road.

Schools Drive
Over 60 Denver metro area schools will be participating in the Schools Drive. Each school collects non-perishable food items for a four-week period, September 25-October 20th. The top Elementary/Private, Middle and High school that collect the most non-perishable food items will receive an all school assembly with a Broncos player, Broncos wives, Miles and Denver Broncos Cheerleaders. Graebel Van Lines, a long-time Wives Drive sponsor, helps with the distribution and pick up of the donations from the schools.

Established by six inner-city churches in 1981, COMPA Food Bank Ministry’s mission is to feed the hungry while offering dignity and self-sufficiency to the poor. The ministry supplies churches and neighborhood agencies with the food and expertise necessary to run successful food pantries.

The Denver Broncos, in collaboration with Broncos Charities supports programs designed to positively impact the lives of Coloradans through youth, health and hunger relief initiatives.

posted already I believe it goes by weight of players and if you think about it we are one if not the most lightest team in NFL. So we should not vote for the Broncos and vote for the fat boys.

Vote for an NFL team, Campbell's donates a can of soup to a soup kitchen in that team's town.

You are able to vote once daily.

This is a good thing to do for the needy people of Denver. The team that wins will earn a donation of Campbell's soup to the food bank of its choice. How much soup? We'll get the official stats for all the players on the winning team's official roster and donate one can for every pound the total team weighs!

This may be a repost from earlier, but it is an easy way to help the needy.

We have a thread on this burried somewhere already.

Since the Broncos are one of the lightest teams in the league it would make more sense to vote for a heavier team in the name of charity.

The Packers have led this contest dramatically for the last 3 years I have known about it.

Yeah, well, it would be nice to hear about this deal some year BEFORE there are 8 bazillion votes posted already.

If you never been up towards the Fox Valley up near Green Bay let me explain this to you, it will help you understand they are voting so much.......

You see people up in the Fox Valley are poor and stupid, they frequent their local soup kitchens every night because they are too lazy to get jobs....this is just another ploy for them to get free food.

I was in Madison and Oshkosh back in July, does that count??? All I did was go to the airshow a couple days and partied in Madison but I did see lots of Packers stuff.

Oshkosh is kind of pushing it...you run into a few dull people up there. Basically if you put your thumb on a map starting at madison, and then run your thumb north, the farther north you go, the more stupid the people get.

For example: I went to school at UW-Stout which is in Menomonie, WI (near the MN border)...if you went to a gas station away from campus and bought gas and your were not going to pay at the pump, you would have to wait 15 minutes because everyone in line ahead of you were buying either lottery tickets (scratching them off at the counter) or chewing tobacco.

The greatest example I can give off the locals stupidity in Menomonie, is the fact that Menomonie, WI was the former location of the Midwest Headquarters of the KKK!

The Packers dominate this contest every year.

Since Chunky Soup donates to this worthy cause referencing only the team that has the most votes, it makes sense that we all click on the Packers and get that total as high as possible.

We discussed this very scenario last year and many of us agreed that is the way to go. :salute:

You don’t hate the homeless… do you?

Strength, speed and quickness on the field can often be the difference between winning and losing in the NFL, but it can also be the deciding factor for NFL fans … off the field, as everyone from rookies to veterans test the agility in their fingers, all to make a difference in the lives of others and help fight hunger in their local communities.

For the eighth consecutive year, “Campbell’s Chunky” soup is inviting Broncos fans to show their team spirit and help give back to Denver communities through its annual “Click for Cans” online competition. NFL Fans around the country will have the chance to click and vote for their favorite team as part of “Campbell’s Chunky” soup’s commitment to tackling hunger in NFL communities, helping to secure much needed food donations.

Broncos fans can show their dedication to their team and town by clicking on the Broncos helmet at www.chunky.com. Each click registered will award one point for the Broncos until voting concludes on December 15, 2007. This season, several new elements have been added to the competition, enabling fans to tally up even more points to boost their team into the end zone. Fans can check out www.chunky.com every day to see which team has been selected the “Chunky” Fully Loaded team of the day and able to score an extra 10 points for every click, or they can play the “Kick for Clicks” game to put their field goal kicking abilities to the test to earn additional points for their favorite team.

The team with the most clicks at the end of the competition will be crowned the “Campbell’s Chunky” soup “Click for Cans” champion, and will receive their official team roster’s total weight in “Chunky” soup cans for the local food bank of their choice. The team with the “Most Improved Clicks” compared to last year’s competition will receive a donation of 2,007 cans to their designated local food bank.

“The ‘Click for Cans’ competition is an exciting time for ‘Campbell’s Chunky’ soup and the NFL, as it exhibits true teamwork among NFL fans to fight hunger in local communities, with a little friendly competition too,” said Teresa McGlynn, Brand Manager, “Campbell’s Chunky” soup. “We’ve seen recording breaking votes the last few years of the competition, so it’s evident that the support from fans during the competition will help ‘Chunky’ fill up food banks nationwide with one million cans of soup this NFL season.”

In 2006, NFL fans registered a record breaking 5.8 million votes in the “Click for Cans” competition.

Hunger continues to be a serious problem in the United States, affecting more than 38 million Americans, including nearly 14 million households with children, according to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Since 1997, Campbell and the NFL have partnered together through the Campbell’s Chunky/NFL Tackling Hunger™ program to help fight hunger in America by generating much needed food donations. Now in its 10th season, the Campbell’s Chunky/NFL Tackling Hunger™ program has donated more than 35 million cans of soup to hunger relief since its inception.

To cast your vote in the “Click for Cans” competition or for more information on the Campbell’s Chunky/NFL Tackling Hunger™ program, please visit www.chunky.com.

Don't know if this has been posted anywhere yet, but Campbell's is doing their yearly Click For Cans to help fight hunger. All you do is click on the link and then click on your favorite team.. (BRONCOS OF COURSE) and the team with the most gets some sort of food donation to local shelters I think.

It's a fun competition to see who can get the most clicks, but mainly it's for a good cause.

The Broncos aren't doing so hot right now, so let's step it up and move our team up the standings board.

Also check out the Kick for Clicks game, a field goal kicking game that you can play once a day to earn extra clicks for your team.

So help fight hunger and represent the Broncos.

Chunky soup has done this every year for a very long time. The format has changed this year.

Every year, the team that receives the most votes, has the donation made in their name. Each vote represents a can of soup that is donated to the hungry, homeless shelters etc.

Green Bay has dominated this for years. It got to the point that everyone would just vote for Green Bay to increase the number as high as possible for a good cause.

So now that it has changed, not sure how it will work this year.

Under Privacy where it talks about Cookies, click "Exceptions" and add the URL link of the website, and click Block. Then go back, and keep voting!

To look and see how close a match is going, all you have to do is open the site in Internet Explorer.

Kinda stinks though... I'd rather have a legit competition.
