So... I have a guest who came in today and we were shooting the breeze. He says his brother is a coach with the Lion's(because our conversation wound it's way to football). I asked him if he talked to him recently and he says- "Yeah, today". I asked him how his brother felt about Millen being fired and he says- "He was sad in that Matt was a good guy. They're making changes right now.. they got rid of their qb..." It was then that we got interupted by another guest and I didn't get a chance to follow up on what he meant or if I missed something... anyone hear anything?

*by the way, I went to the Lion's site and checked and sure as ****, he's listed as a coach and is a spitting image of his brother*

ALLEN PARK -- Lions quarterback Jon Kitna was held out of practice again Friday, after having his injured back examined by a specialist earlier in the day, fueling speculation he'll miss Sunday's game at Minnesota

Lions quarterback Jon Kitna saw media approaching, lowered his head and walked away. There would be another day of silence and another day of no practice for Kitna, who is out because of an injured lower back. Lions offensive coordinator Jim Colletto said the team might wait until Sunday to decide who gets the starting nod. - 10/10/2008

looks like orlovsky is going to be the starter this week

Hmmm... interesting. Wonder if it's something that's worse then thought and they are giving him walking papers.

something is brewing in detroit with kitna

Kitna declined to comment on his status Friday -- he said he'd rather say nothing than lie -- and coach Rod Marinelli also stayed mum on the issue.

is rather interesting.. guess its a wait and see what happens kinda thing

I've been a huge Drew Stanton fan since watching him at Michigan State, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over Kitna not playing. The sooner Stanton gets to play the better. I hope he gets a shot if Orlovsky struggles.

Jon Kitna sucks, he has always sucked, and he will always suck. i can't understand for the life of me, why he's still in the NFL as a QB. all he is, is another Trent Dilfer/Todd Blackledge.

I disagree with this. He's been a pretty "solid" QB for a number of years. He's not elite. He's not at the top of the list, but he's solid and has been one of the Better QBs that the Lions have had for a LONG time.

he's mediocre at best. he's not a winner. never has been never will be.

he lets his hold under his nose do all the talking instead of with his play. all that I'm guaranteeing 10 wins crap. Good QB's don't do that, Good QB's keep their mouth shut, and go out and make it happen, and let their play do all the talking.

he's a solid loser is what he is.

I don't see how they can keep a certain QB a starter when he runs out of his own end zone.
