BOSTON -- Tom Brady has undergone a second procedure in 10 days on his injured left knee, according to a published report.

The Boston Globe reported Friday that the New England Patriots quarterback had the procedure Wednesday for an infection in his left knee that was operated on Oct. 6.

Brady's agent, Donald Yee, did not respond to a phone call or an e-mail. Calls to the Patriots and the doctor who performed the first surgery in Los Angeles, Neal ElAttrache, were not returned.

Brady suffered the season-ending injury in the opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.

CanDB's Comments:

You never want players to be out of action too long over injuries. In spite of all the so called "enemy stuff" it's still just a game, and players like Brady make the league better. But even the greats have to suffer some times, and though this may be a minor issue (the infection), it still goes to show that we are all human indeed. Brady, like Tiger and a number of other folks in this world seem to be on a different plateau, but they really aren't completely immune from disaster. They just handle situations in a more rationale manner, plus they do have some gifts. Lets hope Brady is healthy and back next year, and then we can starting booing him again.

Better to have a second surgery now than in 5 months or later.

I hope he comes back and is decent again.

Now I want an update on Tiger, dammit.
