I think it's stupid the NFL has nothing in the rules to insure a winner. They need to have the first 10:00 of O/T be sudden death, then make it a field goal shootout for the last 5 minutes. Each team has 2:30 to kick 5 field goals. 1 from 25, 1 from 35, 1 from 45, 1 from 50, and 1 from 55.

or something along them lines.

but to leave a game without a winner or a loser...that's just dumb.

What happens if both teams miss the same numbr of field goals?

I dont care about a tie. If in five quarters you cnat decide a winner, neither team deserves on in the W category.

How absolutely pathetic. If they want to decide a game like this, use the Rugby rule....whomsoever had the advantage in possession and territory wins. It teaches teams to quit playing defense and demand to win instead of stopping the other team. Cinicinatti just pushed themselves out of the running for early draft choices, Motor City Kitties still have #1 locked up. Typical too of why I cannot stand the NFC East, mediocre results from major hype.

He was drafted in 1999, up until now there had only been one other tie since then in 2002, a year they went 12-4 and went on to the NFC championship game. I can see how he never heard or knew about this, he was too busy worrying about the performance of his team to pay attention.
