I think that it should go to the best story in baseball a couple of years ago in the American League

Josh Hamilton

he's having a great year in Texas he leads the league in average and is third on the hits list he's tied for fourth in homers. I think he's a heavy favorite to win since A-Rod isn't and Bautista isn't a big enough name to win and his teams in fourth place in the AL East. and Bautista is in the top five for average or hits

in the National League I'd really like to see Cargo get it I like Carlos Gonzalez alot he's a terrific young player with a huge up side

AL : Josh Hamilton

NL : Carlos Gonzalez

I'll go with the current and former Reds :D

I'll be shocked if Hamilton doesn't get it.

And Carlos should get it for the NL.

AL: Hamilton

NL: Carlos SHOULD get it, but due to the hate fact on the Rockies and Coors, he won't. Less deserving Votto will.

It'll probably be Hamilton and Votto. It would be awesome if Cargo got it, but I think the playoff position of the Reds vs. the Rockies probably not making it will be the decider. Oh well... At least Cargo will keep improving and will be even better next year. Him and Tulo should be absolute locks for Gold Glove though.

Cargo has a better batting avg. by roughly .20....that's a big difference.

Votto isn't even on the top 5 list for hits....Cargo leads that list.

Cargo trails Votto by 3 HR though.

Cargo trails Votta in walks.

Cargo has 6 more triples

Cargo has 6 more runs scored.

Cargo has 1 more RBI.

Cargo has 10 more steals.

Cargo has a better slug. %.

That is why he deserves it more.........

Hamilton hands down

for the NL....

CarGo if the Rockies make it, Votto if they don't. Both have awesome offensive and defensive numbers.

Cargo just hit a grand slam.

So add another 4 RBI's and 1 HR to his already better stats than Votto.

It was on the road too, for all the haters.

Cargo 4 MVP hands down.

That is why he deserves it more.........You hand-picked the stats that Cargo leads in. Here's a more accurate respresentation:

Avg.
Cargo - .342
Votto - .323

Runs
Cargo - 107
Votto - 100

Hits
Cargo - 190
Votto - 170

Doubles
Votto - 35
Cargo - 34

Triples
Cargo - 8
Votto - 2

HR
Votto - 35
Cargo - 32

RBI
Cargo - 113
Votto - 106

SB
Cargo - 25
Votto - 15

BB
Votto - 85
Cargo - 40

K
Votto - 116
Cargo - 127

OBP
Votto - .423
Cargo - .383

SLG
Cargo - .610
Votto - .597

Runs Created
Votto - 127.6
Cargo - 123.6

OPS
Votto - 1.020
Cargo - 0.993

Votto leads some, Cargo leads some. They're both having remarkable years and are definitely 1 and 1a in terms of MVP voting. But this is the reason that, as of right now, Joey wins hands down:

Cincinnati Reds
86-67 1st place NL Central

Colorado Rockies
82-70 3rd place NL West

If the Rockies can win the NL West then I can certainly see Cargo getting the award. Otherwise, it's Votto's to lose.
