I don't think he played in the NL. The only teams I know he played for are all AL teams Oakland, Boston, Toronto and Yankees.

Just noticed this... Rickey played for the Padres, Mets, and Dodgers too. He also had a run with the Mariners.

The Browns may not have any superbowl titles, but they do have World Championships (back before the superbowl was made)

When was the last time they won a championship?

1964.

Just saw this on an episode of Antiques Roadshow (yes I watch the Roadshow):D

Who has the most HR Derby HR?

In a single contest, I think it was Bobby Abreu. He sucked the second half of the season and his sucking was blamed on the derby messing up his swing.

Career--- Cincinnati's very own Ken Griffey Jr. (Cincy being the town he grew up in).

Sadly, I know this from my teen years of memorizing baseball stats and records for absolutely know good reason.

Nap Lajoie, 1901. He hit .426 for the Philadelphia Athletics.

I think this is considered the "modern era" record. I wouldn't be surprised if you said "No" some guy in the 1800s hit higher.

Ted Williams was th last player to hit over .400 in the 40s. I have no idea which year, because I know he took time to fight in WWII.

George Brett was the last to flirt with .400 in 1980. If I remeber correctly, he lost his .400 average on the last day of the season.

Teddy hit. 406 in 1941. He played in both games of a double header on the last game of the season. Going into those games he was hitting .3996 which would have been funded up to. 400. His manager offered to sit him so he could have a guaranteed .400 and Williams refused. He did not want a "rounded up" .400. In the first game he went 4/5 to raise it to .404 then in the second game that day he went 2/3.

How many players today would have played in the second game? What is remarkable is that in 1941 Ted Williams did not win the MVP award, Joe DiMaggio did, despite Ted having more HR, BB and a higher BA, OBP, and SLG.

Williams has a great quote on hitting .400 "If I knew they where going to make as big of deal about it I would have done it more often."

It is indeed my man Smoke, in fact not only does he have 5 wins in 12 starts but in the past 7 races there 6 times he has either won (4) or fininshed 2nd (twice) & the lone other race he finished 7th.

His record at the Glen is incredible & i fully expect him to be the one to beat this sunday as well, they might as well rename the place after him.

And Jeff is close behind, he has won 4 times there but has not won there since 2001 & in the 9 races since has managed only 2 top 10's. Not sure what has happened to jeff but there was a time where it was pretty much either smoke or jeff would win on the road courses.
