Haven't heard anything from this guy in camp, has anyone even noticed this guy yet? Is his not being drafted until the last round justified? Any news would be greatly appreciated.

Alfred Williams a former DE said he likes him a lot. He understands how to play the position. He said something like no wasted steps. He thinks he will make the team and Jason Hunter will not.

For those who have been to camp, does he look better than hunter? Is he playing on 2nd or 3rd team?

Really, he thinks he'll make it over Jason Hunter? Well, I suppose if there's not much difference in talent, Beal will be the cheaper alternative because Hunter will probably make more than twice as much.

As expected, the Broncos moved Jeremy Jarmon to his natural position, LDE. The team created depth at the position. The current depth chart with the top 4 DEs: Dumervil, Ayers, Harvey and Jarmon. Beal is part of the 3rd team along with Hunter. He can still rise to the 2nd team. Veikune is in a tough spot. I have no idea if Fox likes to carry a 5th DE on the final roster. And considering Beal's success in college, he might be a risky choice for the practice squad.

Yeh I don't know why he kept being referred to as a DT by people and John Elway even. Even in the media guide for 2011.

When the Redkins moved to a 3-4, they did not turn Jarmon into an OLB so he was labeled as a DT. But Xanders confirmed that Jarmon will be a LDE in the 4-3, the position he played in college:

go to Broncos Audio, Brian Xanders with Vic and Gary (between Daniel Fells and Dennis Allen)

Originally they did attempt to make him an OLB but then decided to have him play DE instead. They jerked him around by first making him cut weight then put in back on plus more.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/post/redskins-trade-jeremy-jarmon-to-denver-for-jabar-gaffney/2011/07/27/gIQACLZFdI_blog.html

Jarmon is entering his third NFL season, but was out of place in Washington’s 3-4 defense. The team selected the Kentucky product in the third round of the 2009 supplemental draft with the intention of using him as a rush end in the 4-3 defense.

Then Mike Shanahan came aboard last year and ordered the installation of the 3-4 scheme. Jarmon first dropped weight to make the switch to linebacker, but then coaches had him bulk back up to play end. Jarmon battled injury last year and appeared in only five games. He should benefit from a return to the 4-3 defense, which Denver runs.

He will carry 5 imo because Ayers will see plenty of work at UT. Beal may not be the 5th, being a natural fit for the PS.

This team would get a huge boost if Harvey or Jarmon live up to draft potential.

Alright stop, collaborate and listen
Broncos are back for a brand new season
Doom, grabs a hold of Romo tightly
Throws him to the ground, daily and nightly
Will Champ ever stop? Yo, I don’t know
Toss up the ball, and he’ll roll
To the extreme Eddie rocks like a vandal
Light up Mile Hile and wax J-Jones like a candle
TD! Salute the crowd that booms
We’re killin’ Cowboy plays like a poisonous mushroom
Dawk, singing his pre-game melody
Sayin anything less than our best is a felony
Love it or leave it, Romo better gain way
Tebow hits bull’s eye, that kid don’t play
If there was a problem, EFX’ll solve it
Check out the score, it’ll leave Dallas sobbin’

Boys and girls, Broncos fans of all ages!! This is what we've been waiting for, what we were scared and worried that we might not see again!

For better or worse, Orton is the starter and whether Tebow (or even the mighty QWINN!) can unseat him remains to be seen.

Fox has his one-two punch in the backfield with Moreno and McGahee, and I we've added some solid players on defense!

Welcome back, DOOMervil! And Welcome Miller! It may be pre-season, but lets go show Garrett and his Cowgirls that the vaunted star on their helmet doesn't mean as much as they think it does!!!!

Five goals for Broncos in preseason opener Thursday at Dallas (http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_18657599)

NFL reporter Mike Klis lists five goals for the Broncos, who play their preseason opener tonight against Dallas at Cowboys Stadium:

1. Stay healthy: Lockout or no lockout, preseason games remain meaningless in the standings. The Broncos need their key players — most notably defensive end Elvis Dumervil — to reach the regular-season starting line.

2. First-team confidence: Veteran quarterback Kyle Orton and the No. 1 offense could deliver a stiff-arm to Tebowmania with a scoring drive.

3. May the second-best man win: Once the starters leave the game, the competition for backup jobs is on. Tim Tebow and Brady Quinn are going at it for the No. 2 job at quarterback.

4. Stop Dallas QB Tony Romo: Ranked 32nd in the 32-team NFL last year, Denver's defense should show immediate improvement with a defensive- minded head coach (John Fox), the return of a key player (Dumervil) and the addition of a high-profile rookie (outside linebacker Von Miller).

5. Pass protection: If it's third-and-long for the Broncos' offense, the Dallas defense figures to test rookie right tackle Orlando Franklin. The backup offensive line needs Tebow to make quick decisions.

If Ayers is a rounded, solid DE this year, I see Denver making the playoffs.

It's like when Denver went 6-0 a couple years back.

Their defense was dynamite during this stretch because Elvis played out if his mind and Denver kept offenses out of their rhythms.

If Dumervil can play a fraction of the way he once did, Von can translate his practice performance to game performance, and Ayers can be a solid, rounded DE, Denver could keep this defensive performance up ALL SEASON.

The OP wanted the biggest question mark, not the largest source of anxiety.

He still is the biggest question mark though, which Kyle Orton will show up.

The one who does great between the 20s.

The one that passer rating jumps up after a 13point or greater deficit.

The one who slips on a banana peel and falls to the ground.

The one who audibles 6 passing plays in a row when Moreno is averaging about 8ypc and looks unstoppable on the field.

That is a lot of question marks.

I'm most interested in whether or not WE can run the ball. I really want to believe but I need to see it to shore up my faith...

Our ability to run will resolve most of those other questions. If we can keep the defense off the field for longer periods of time, they will be better. Effective running will also open up the game in the red zone and make Kyle look good. However, I do think a possible 3 headed monster of Tebow/Knowshon/McGahee (AKA the most sophisticated running team in the league) would be pretty nasty in the red area...

He's like 15 or 20 lbs lighter this year, and rehabbed his achillies. Sounds like he's worked very hard to get back to where he is now. As long as his body holds up, I think White can be a good guy to have around for short yardage or lead blocking even

Go Broncos.

Regardless of the drama it's good to be able to watch a game and see what reality really has in store for us this season.

Side note: So many sports guys in Denver seem to be saying Tebow might not be able to really play in the NFL. They say that to this day. However, not a single one of them will think back two weeks ago and admit that they had all of us believing Orton was gone and Tebow would start.

What would they be saying about Tebow today had Orton penned his name in Miami?

(it's hard not to talk about when the media created this crap by lying to us).

Ayers was brilliant last year in setting the edge in the run game. Wish people would watch games.. the OLB/DE's job isn't only to get to the QB.

I agree Jake, he was the best defender against the run in our front seven last year before he got hurt.

Aside from the batted down pass, and the missing assignment on Spears, I am pleased. We opened up holes and blocked well, much more running , which I like. Now that the 12 men in the huddle just happened, Im sure that it will be fixed later on, its a communication thing and can be worked on. Yet again our red zone offense struggles, this is something that really needs to be worked on, why couldnt we of just ran the ball into the endzone.
