the reason we won was because of Drughns he has 30 carries for almost 200 yrds als next week when Q gets the start i think we need to put drougns in on shot yrd situations and in the 10 yrd line
obviously u want griffin to start becuz you know Droughns is a better RB. Q is small. Droughns is perfect for the system. He has the burst and the muscles to break 10000000000 tackles, he's a machine.

We can't expect 190yrd rushing games every week. Nor can we expect rushing for 100yrds each and every week. Its the KIND of running that I saw from Droughns that I liked over Griffin. The BURST into the Hole... the HITTING hard and DRIVING for the yardage. Do I think he can look like a monster each and every week? No....probably not. But I think the way he runs with authority makes it easier on our lineman, and gives us some PUSH for those short yards.. breaking tackles, and getting into the defensive backfield.

I think we'll still be seeing Quentin simply because he's a great overall package as a running back (blocking, catching etc.); but we will probably see more of Reuben for sure. What I'd do is use Reuben for third downs since he FIGHTS for those yards and tries to get them no matter the struggle. And Quentin can still be a weapon on screens and first or second-down runs.

Breaking tackles and hard to bring down spells extra yardage, thats what you get with Droughns, With Q you get more speed but a simple one handed slap seems to drop him like a dead horse. Ill take a strong runner that hits the holes over a speed guy that cant break tackles anyday. you just dont get alot of tackles for loss of yardage with Droughns in there.

I didn't see the game (it wasn't on in AR), but from the sounds of it, RD was doing what a back is meant to do in our system. One cut and go. Griffin dances, Rouben plows. Our running game in its prime (Terrell Davis) was defined by consistancy. Portis was a different kind of back that had the home-run ability. Griffin has more big-gain ability, but Droughns is the type of back that gets 5 or 6 yards consistantly. With our great defense, the consistancy is something we need more than big plays. We need an offense that can drive down the field, use up time, get the ball in the end zone when we are in the red-zone, and force the other team to get 20+points against our defense. I believe Droughns can do that better than Griffin behind our small line.

what lesson is there to be learned? you got a very, very fast Quentin griffin who stands 5'7" and barely a buck 90. he takes on shot, down... shoe lace tackle, down. then you got a Ruben droughns. power, fast enough and so strong it takes AT LEAST 2 guys to get him down. the wagon has been there, ive just been on it all by myself until now.

Carolina supposedly has one of the best d-lines in the nfl and we ran all over them. I honestly think the rankings are a bunch of bull because game situations affect the rankings (if a team is behind all the time, they probably aren't going to be one of the higher-ranked running teams or if the offense never uses up clock, the defense will probably be ranked lower).

Bailey shut DOWN one half of the field and made TWO huge plays in a row... he's great on the run support! Its the #2 WR that hurt us. Turnovers come with good play. Our defense is definatly playing well.... don't judge it because of something like turnovers. Look at the yardage that isn't being given by our defense. Did they have a long drive? No. They scored when we had to punt from our own endzone, and when they returned a INT to the five.

What's the big deal??? The top-ranked D in the NFL after 5 games and you're complaining?? A D giving up amongst the fewest points per game in the NFL??? A D that (I believe) still hasn't given up ANY points in the 4th quarter--in 5 GAMES!!! A D that game-after-game has had to bail out the offense??? Give it a rest, puhlease, and discuss something with which you're a little more conversant.

IF the D didn't have to bail out the offense time after time after a turnover in broncos side of the field, they'd have more opportunity to steal the ball.

IF the D wasn't kicking the other team off the field after 3 plays, they'd perhaps have a better chance at turnovers.

IF the D keeps playing the way they're playing, the turnovers will come. They don't happen every game--they occur in bunches with frequent gaps between.

The O-Line did much better today. Ruben was great. I swear i never thought i would hear chris berman's WHOOP with Ruben carrying the ball, but ity happened. I just wish Q had gotten a chance today. if he couldve pulled off a big game against this struggling defense that wouldve been a huge confidence booster. Oh well, we got a comittee that can dominate. Q for the 2nd and longs, break a big one off, Ruben on the 3rd and shorts. I formation on first, we can give it to Q with Ruben blocking or trick em up and give it to Ruben for a good gain.

LIke I said in another thread. I don't know if I've seen enough of Bell to say I don't want him to start... but I've seen enough of Droughns to know that I DO want him to start. The boy runs HARD.. hits the hole with authority, and drives for the extra yards. Its what I want to see in a starting RB. I won't/can't expect 190yrds from him every week, nor can I expect 100 yrds each week (although that would be nice).. Im saying that its the WAY he runs that makes me want to see Droughns as our starter right now. I know he will have a down game, of course he will. But even then, I know that he's hitting the hole HARD and driving...breaking tackles and falling forward. He runs like Mike Anderson...and we know how much we have missed his running.

Ravage!!!

its not so much the yardage that Droughns gained today.. but the WAY he gained it. Hitting the hole with REAL authority.. BReakin tackles, and driving hard. Thats what I liked more than anything else

Did bell even have a rush attempt today?

I saw him in the game a lot, but I don't remember seeing him run the ball

The turnovers will come as has been previously posted. And with the Raiders vanquished we need one more win over Chargers to win division.
