Exciting. Could be interesting. If the Nuggets play like they have recently or like they did at the start of the year. Then it will be no easy series for anyone. This is winnable for the Nuggets. Hopefully they win or atleast take the Lakers to 7. Should be fun.

Canmore

The Lakers will be tough. You can't teach size. Gasol and Bynum average a double double. No Metta World Peace. He was playing really well in April. Break for the Nuggets.

Difference is, this is a DENVER section and a NUGGETS thread.

You wanna go talk smack, do it in other sports.

Simple.

Also truth? How can you declare that truth? Do you need me to define truth for you? Lakers fans....LOL. Won't see this dude around anymore if the Nuggets win. What a joke.

Spyder's a pretty good poster when it comes to basketball. I haven't seen him around a lot lately, but I know him well enough to know he meant no harm.

Here is a friendly reminder from the last time we played the Lakers. And with more Lakers fans crawling out now that it's playoff time talking about how they've watched all year long, yada yada, now is a better time than ever to post this:

Playoff basketball.

It becomes personal quickly.

It looks like you're the only one trying to make it personal.

Won't see this dude around anymore if the Nuggets win. What a joke.

Interesting.

Also I've been posting ALOT in Basketball related thread for the past 5 or 6 years as my friend CoryWinget81 kindly pointed out. Win or lose for the Lakers, I was always quick to point out flaws and positive things taken away from games and/or series. I apologize that my job hasn't allowed me to hop on here as much as it used to in the past. But I can promise you, ask any Nuggets fan who's been around here for the duration of the past 4 years or so, they'll all tell you I'm a die hard Lakers fan, win or lose.

Oh and for the record if you're THAT sensitive to my original post that meant absolutely NOTHING outside of small fun here and there, I do apologize.

But hey, thanks for taking it to a personal level. I'll do the smart thing and not take this any further.

Like I said, Lakers in 6.

Lakers in 5 too much size, home court where they play their best ball and #24 the black mamba if I'm wrong as in games either way lakers win this series

ERoyal248

Should be a really good series.

- Lawson should have a big series.
- Denver has a HUGE advantage with the bench.
- IIRC, Affalo guards KB really well, at least BH says so.
- Artest out is a big loss, he was playing really, really well, he'll be missed.

That said, it will be hard to beat the refs, and not having home-court.

I'd say Lakers in 7, but Denver winning wouldn't surprise me.

Gallo and Lawson need to be aggressive.

That will make or break this series for us.

Faried is going to battle those two 7 foot giants!

Lakers, Nuggets the rematch....... I have been waiting for this the last couple of seasons but its just not the same as it would have been a few years ago but never the less a great series is upon us.

I do think its going to be a harder series for the Lakers then people think. Steve Blake is a major liability on both sides of the court and with the suspension of Artest the Lakers D will be in the toilet. The teams only saving grace will be Gasol and Bynum. The Lakers must not get into a track meet and play to there strengths. Get the ball into the BIGS!

Im not sold on Sessions at all either. This will be his first playoff series of his entire career and at times he definitely looks like a back up point guard on the court then a starter with poor passing and lack of defense.

Do I even need to mention the Lakers non existent bench?

The key for the Nuggets will be to steal game 1 and but full pressure on the lakers bench to perform on the road

Prediction :

Lakers in 6

arapaho

a few things are needed...

1. Lawson..must be aggressive!!! cannot be understated

2. gallo the disappearing act...must reappear...he needs to start to score....he needs to hit some 3s...he needs to drive with the purpose of scoreing...not driving hopeing to get a called foul and get to the line...score!!

3. limit the 3's

4. stop the penetation

Broncoholic3233

- IIRC, Affalo guards KB really well, at least BH says so.

In the games Kobe has played against us this year, he has averaged:

-36 minutes
-17.7 PPG
-.275 FG%
-.118 3PT%

The only team who has held him to less ppg this year, is ATL, but they only played him once.

AAA does a very solid job on him, it's Bynum who gives us fits.

Our D must be top notch to win this series.

nic.zeman24
04-28-2012, 12:13 PM
We need Faried to dominate this series. I think this series lies on him, which is a bit much to ask a rookie, but if he is able to handle Gasol and our rebound him I think we win the series as long as Bynum isnt too dominant.

Lawson needs to be aggressive thats a given, when he is aggressive we win when he isnt we dont. simple as that

Mozzy needs to start. That is the only way we limit Bynum.

Our bench needs to outplay their by a lot. We will outplay them anyways but we need to take advantage of their bench and use ours to our favor.

AAA needs to lock down Kobe like he can and make him shoot a lot of shots.

Ty Lawson has been irrelevant. He's been awful. He's afraid. Making bad passes. Not attacking. Just an overall bad game.

AAA hasn't scored much, but he's shut down Kobe for the most part. Kobe is shooting 2-10, with 8 points.

Gallo leads the team with 13 points. Pretty good start for him, he's at least trying to attack.

Faried has been absent like Lawson. Getting beat on the boards, and no offense.

Kosta and McGee haven't done anything.

Timo came in for a little had 2 points I think.

Harrington had a big 3 to end the quarter to make it only a 10 point deficit.

Andre has been crap as well. Taking a lot of jumpers, and as we know, he doesn't have a good shot.

So, pretty much, we've just been really....really....bad. Plus, our game plan is to double to pretty much everyone, leaving others WIDE open. So...that's gotta change.

It's large. I think we have him for another 2-3 years.

He's been GREAT this year though. His knee just recently got messed up. We are lucky he's even playing through it, or we'd be in bad shape.

He'll be back and fine next year (I'm pretty sure) just yeah....can't jump, but we need him.

Our bench was so much stronger, but no Rudy, Chandler and Harrington with a bad knee. Bad luck, seeing as though that was our HUGE advantage on most teams.

I still have Nuggets in 6 however.

I am pretty sure GK is going to rip Ty a new one. Hopefully realize that Timofey is the best C against THIS team. And I really doubt we'll shoot this bad.

VERY young team, having a rough first game in the playoffs on the road, isn't very surprising unfortunately.

a few things are needed...

1. Lawson..must be aggressive!!! cannot be understated

2. gallo the disappearing act...must reappear...he needs to start to score....he needs to hit some 3s...he needs to drive with the purpose of scoreing...not driving hopeing to get a called foul and get to the line...score!!

3. limit the 3's

4. stop the penetation

1. fail

2. semi good

We need a post game in the worst way. We need to knock down our open shots. SHots that every other team in the league seems to hit our best shooters like Harrington and Afflallo can't. And Faried instead of going for the monster put back on every damn play needs to just get the rebound and worry about that. There length will match the Lakers front court better. Mosgov on Bynum. That is our best matchup for him. But GK cannot see it.

Also I think we need to go Mosgov and Mcgee in the front court.

Nothing that was a mistake. I hadn't actually been able to watch the games and assumed he was still injured.

But Dallas is only defending champs in name only. They are not better than the Nuggets.

Honestly though I've always felt the Nuggets were a sweep or at best 5 game series with any of the top 3 seeds. Hopefully not but no real reason to believe otherwise.

Yep, NBA refs straight up ruin the same, one reason why CBB > NBA by a landslide.

As for beating the Spurs, should they get by Dallas, that's the one team i think they may not beat out West, one without homecourt, and two, Popovich is a great coach. But maybe KD goes into superman mode and carries them. Dallas series is still far from over.

And get Faried out of the game. He cannot handle Gasol. He is to small. Play him at the 3 and get the damn length in the front court. GK and his rotations continue to annoy and make little sense. Used to it now though.

Everyone is battling. Kobe touches and they call a foul straight away. Piece of crap refs. Would love to see whoever called that get knocked out. These refs make the game laughable.

Just keep Faried off the floor and also Lawson needs to keep attacking. We ran and got a good flow going to cut it back to single digits. Now we need that same attitude to try and run and take a lead. However as this Nuggets team does week in and week out they fold when the going gets tough. SO when they have a chance to make plays to take a lead they do what they have perfected over the course of the year. Fold when crunch time comes.

SO they call that for Gasol but we cannot get a call which was far more obvious at the other end. If this wasn't the Nuggets playing I would be done with this game. Refs are so bad.

And get AAA out of the game quick. Get Lawson back in. And we cannot even make points up on them with there two best players off the floor. Terrible lineup GK. Terrible. May I say. Again

Ty Lawson with a great game.

- Terrible series so far for Afflallo. Better pick it up when he gets back to Denver.

- Faried looks lost and keeps going under screens leaving Gasol with wide open mid range jumpers.

- NBA refs suck ass and should take some bias out of the calling of the game. Hey. Atleast we got one call we shouldn't have.

Yeah very true. However he was what got us into the game and kept us going. He was the only hope we had.

And yes. I wouldn't be playing Koufas in this series the rest of the way.

Our best matchups in my opinion are:

Mosgov on Bynum. He isn't going to dominate him and Bynum will still score and play well but he is really coming on and has become a superstar in my opinion. However Mosgov has the size, length and athletic ability to match this best of anyone we have.

Mcgee on Gasol. He is athletic enough and has the size and will not be out matched with power. He will not get beat by speed either at the 4 on Gasol.

We need a Mcgee and Mosgov front court for this next game. Faried can't handle it down low with any of there bigs. Play him at the 3 where his athletic ability is fine and he can match players size wise.

Amazing first quarter, keep it up!

I love how they just let Bynum blatantly walk.

He does that every possession. Lakers get the most favored calls of any team in any sport.

Good to see this one will be at least a good game.

A lot of guys making shots they shouldn't be right now..

Andre miller is trying to kill the momentum with selfish bonehead play.

Ok guys lol you were draining shots but lets try things other than the 3 every time. And what the heck Galo? Lol you had the ball in the post and had to take the ball all the way out past the 3 point line? Why?

But I'm just being picky, hell of a start so far.

No need to call names every time I post in this thread.

And no, no games in this series have been interesting at all. The Nugs got close to striking distance many times, including the end, but it was the Lakers game from the start, kind of how this one is looking for the Nuggets.

The difference between games though.. Kobe. Don't count LA out until the buzzer. Ask OKC about that one.

Overall, this game is looking much, much better. I'm looking forward to this one..

Loving the energy and motor Faried and Hill have brought to the rebounding of the series.

Just gotta keep playing defense and forget the 3 ball. We had our hot streak. Now it is time to knuckle down and play ball.

Can we please get Andre miller off the court?

Bingo.

Ty needs to attack, and if he gets stopped, dish it to AAA or whoever is open.

But....ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK.

Lawson needs to be playing more minutes. We clearly play better with him than Miller.

I'll take a 55-39 lead at half!
