I'm getting to depressed with this team to remember to make threads.

Anyways...

Good job Colvin and Cuddyer.

CarGo got screwed.

I miss Smitty.

Hopefully Guthrie pulls through with a solid start with this early lead. He is due for one.

He was pitching down the first two innings, but everything now is up up up.

Guthries ERA is now 7.00. SMH. Sad thing is we have too many injuries to replace him.

Your jinx worked...congrats DB.

Anyways, Guthrie will prob be traded at the deadline which I'm fine with. We aren't going anywhere. By that time people should be healthy and we'll get the youngins some time.

Smitty got ice in his veins. Still pissed we got rid of him. Keep on keepin on Smitty.

Glad for Smitty too. I didn't like him as a starter, but Mr. Late Night was fun to watch.

Personally I am glad we got rid of him because I like Colvin better as a #4 OF, but not glad at the same time. As it is now, he will just be one of those previous players that I'll always root for until they throw at our players during Spring Training. ;)

Outside of that horrible inning, Guthrie looks fairly good. Too bad there isn't a mulligan rule.

You make it sound like I wanted him to fail. I never want anyone in a Rockies uniform to fail. Even if I don't think they are that good.

It really has been like an odd trend with him. Mostly overall good to great outing. But 1 inning that just makes you go huh?

Maybe Esmil doesn't like Baldo and will throw at him during practice or something. :)

I love Colvin but still love Smith. Not a ton of guys with ice in their veins like he has. And we got ripped off, terribly.

And yeah he has looked pretty good. Sac bunt and Smitty started a damn 6 run inning.

And Moss is uhhhhhh killing him. Wow.

Time to send Guthrie to the pen. I can see him getting traded, but he will net little if anything in return.

Screw the pitcher, just put the ball on a tee. We'd have a better chance at keeping the ball in the park.

Silly me, I thought after the batters handed Guthrie a 4 run lead we would have a chance, even after he escaped that 1st inning jam. Something is wrong with Guthrie after giving a guy who had a total of 1 HR before the game 2 tape measure jobbies. Made Moss look like Ted Williams.

I think the front office will keep Guthrie starting to avoid more egg on their face with hopes that he can wipe a bit of the egg off. I just hope he can fix what is wrong.

Tulo hurt himself in rehab, but not seriously. His comeback is a bit delayed.

Guthrie is on a short leash and on a start to start basis.

And there was other news but I forgot

Almost threw my drink onto the field. Gave my tickets away for tomorrow. I need a break from going to see this. I truly hate this team and the management. Was Cargo hurt?

Just thought I'd drop by for an obligatory "told you so" on Guthrie, since everyone wanted to jump in my ass when I said he sucked.

If our pitching staff could give up the average number of runs in a game that most teams do (ERA: 3.98), we would be 40-21. We have by far the worst staff in all of baseball (we all know this of course).

So let's play "How Bad is our Pitching?":
-One of 7 teams without a complete game.
-One of two teams with only 1 shutout (tied with Miami for worst).
-We have 17 QS (6+ innings, 3 or less runs by starter). By far the worst in the NL, and still a decent margin worse than any AL team. League average QS per team: 32
-Houston is the next worst NL team in ERA at 4.40. We almost have an ERA 1 point higher (5.35).
-Worst team ERA in the division is SD with 4.06.
-Runs given up (including non earned): 342. That is 153 runs less than Philly gave up last year, and we have 102 games left. We are on pace to give up 923 runs, just 105 short of the team record set in 1999 (they were 29-31 at this point).
-6th worst in walks, worst in BAA (.296), 4th worst in HRs allowed.

Wait a second...so our pitching staff isnt good!?

Nice to see they had as many errors as runs. Worst team in franchise history in the making. But at least everyone can sleep at night because they have guaranteed jobs.
